Well where should I start,

Well it all started a year ago when we decided to plan a disney trip. We did and my Aunt, Uncle, and two kids were going with us. Then just last week they all dropped off the trip, we were going to have a magical gathering and now we are not :( but o'well. We made reservations at the PC, for two rooms, and now they want us to take their daughter and PC cant accomedate (SP?) 5 people in a room, unless we get a second room, Ok here come the 1,000 dollar question,

Can I swtich switch hotels, with a 800 ballance to the Port Orleans Riverside?

And now im anxious to know morea bout the Port Orleans Riverside, like does it have a Boat Launch to Down Town Disney, it says it on the Offical WDW site but in the Birnimbaums Book it doesnt say anything about it.

I leave in 1 month and 3 days @ 11 am so any help would be much appreciated!

OK First things first, Yes I believe you can switch over your reservation to PO Riverside with no issue but call TODAY!!!! Do not wait as you may have a problem getting the room you want. Also Id inquire about the 7 for 5 night special that is going on right now. You may be able to save yourself a bit of monmey off the regular rack rate!!! If you go to Disneyworld.com look on the right hand side for the Free Offer box with Pluto in it and click that link!!! You will be able to check if a room is availabel at the time you want to go and for that resort specifically!!! Once you have this info, Id call today and have your reservation switched over.
Not to be nosy but the trundle bed in the PO Riverside is not very big and should only be used for a kid. How old are all the kids going with you??
Incidentally I adore Riverside and have stayed there a LOT!!!!!! I have also tried Pop, AS Music & Movies as well as all four of the Moderates. I think Riverside is my favorite!!! Post any questions and I will try to answer them!! And yes they do have a launch that goes to Downtown Disney from Riverside. It is a very cool way to get there although the busses are probably faster. Belle

Ok my mom just called they were unsure if they could do it and after 10 mins of being on hold and listening to disney Songs on the phone they said they could do it but since we were less than 45 days away from leaving they would have to charge us the whole charge for the room right now, my mom put it on 2 credit cards and they took the 800 out of PC and into POR.

Were traveling with my mom and dad which they will take up one bed, me(16) and my lil brother (12) which will take one bed and my cousin (12) will take the trundle bed.

So they do have a boat launch eh, i have to tell me mom this because she wanted to go to the crab house restaruant ship thing in DTD.

We also booked that package the 7 days for 5 days thing.

thanks guys for saving us some money, only to be spent in disney anyway lol.

O Yeah one more question, what are the pools like what i have read they say that they have 5 pools, and also what do they have for food places, is it like a food court @ PC, or teh other value resorts or is it a sit down order restuant type thing.

Tell your Mom she is going to LOVE Fulton's Crab house. I have eaten there a few times, It is VERY pricey, but I think it is among the best seafood you can get in WDW. Here is a link for the menu at Fultons so your Mom can get an idea:
http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_fch.htm
Here is a listing of all of the menus for everywhere to eat in Disney:

As far as Riverside goes here is a FAQ Sheet:

And here are some pictures ( Including the notorious trundle bed open!!)

Riverside has a food court as well as a sit down restaurant called "Boatwright's" Most people really like the food court but Boatwrights for breakfast cant be beat in my book!!! It is one of the reasons we stay there frequently. Henri's Blueberry pancakes are outrageous as is the banana stuffed french taost, and the blue print omlette!!! These are just some of my favorites there. Check out the menu for Boatwright's for breakfast:
http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_bwb.htm
They serve dinner as well which some friends have told me was excellent as well but I am usually in a park at that hour!!!
All of the above links are from our frinde Deb Wills' website

This is a great source of information for planning!! Hope this helps!!! Belle

Gee Clemson!!! Thanks!!! ::Blushing:: I Am just trying to help our my fellow Magic types and if I can save them a bit of money or time and effort, then so be it!!! Although in this case most of the credit has to go to Deb Wills and her wonderful website. I had the priviledge of meeting her at the Mega Mouse Meet in December, when I had to honor of helping Pam ( Kingdom Konsultant) represent our own WDWMagic website. Deb Wills in an amazing lady and it was my great pleasure to have met her. Anything else that you need to know, Please feel free to ask and if I know the answer so will you!!!! Belle

Hey Disney Queen I apprecate the vote of confidence, but I dont have the technical know how to run a site anywhere near as good as the ones I already know about!!! Steve does an amazing job on this site and has received many many well deserved compliments for how professional and slick this site is. I can only hope that my contributions will add to the great storehouse of knowledge that this site already has. I am proud to be a member of this site and help my fellow posters out if I can.
As far as making the July meet I am going to be missing it by one week!!!!!! I will however be at EPCOT on July 18th watching all of the Off Kilter sshows that day, so if anyone is in the area, please drop by. I will be wearing my WDWMagic Meet t shirt ( 2004 if I get it in time, 2003 if not!!) so please stop in and say hello!!! All the girls I Am with are members of the Off Kilter fan club and know me as Belle as well so I should be easy to find!!! Belle

Currently you cannot take a Disney bus to the McDonalds near the All-Stars. You will either have to drive or get a taxi. Of course you can always try jumping out of the bus as it goes by!

Hey all, You are correct, you cannot take a bus to go to the McDonald's by the All Stars. However you can take a bus to Downtown Disney and there is a McDonalds down there as well. There are also several stands within the parks that I can think of that sell McDonald's fries specifically. In the Magic Kingdom it is over by Peco's Bills and in the Animal Kingdom it is over in Dinoland ( Petrifries I think is the name of that one) Im sure there are more in the other two parks. I Am not huge on McDonald's in general and with all the other choices for food, it doesnt make the cut except maybe as a snack!! Belle

Well, ill try my best to answer 'em for ya.

1.. Absolutely, in every building is an ice machine and a vending machine with various drinks/snacks.

2. Nope, sorry, the only busses that run from DTD are buses to the resorts, occasionally they run a bus from Disney-Mgm Studios to DTD, but it doesn't handle the return traffic. However, if you are strictly bus bound, learn what resorts are closest to the park you want to go to, and take that resort bus, picking up the bus at the resort to your chosen destination. (MK - Contemporay, MGM - Swan, Dolphin, Boardwalk, EPCOT - Boardwalk, AK - Animal Kingdom Lodge)

1) There are usually several ice and vending machines on each floor of each building at each resort.

2) Yeah, the buses for Downtown only run between resorts. It can be kind of annoying. Does anyone know why there is no transportation between the parks and Downtown Disney?

Hi Homer, from what I had heard, too many people from offsite hotels were driving in and hopping a bus from Downtown Disney to a park to avoid paying for parking for a car. I had also heard that some hotels were having their busses drop people off there to catch a Disney bus, but I Am not sure how true that is. Belle
