The wreaths on the boats seem to have been missing for years now :( Oh and the parade tapeing also happened last year on Veterans Day weekend. Cant wait for the pics.

Really? I could have sworn I saw them last year. Hmmm.

Ed: You're absolutely right. I just looked over a photo from last year and they weren't there. I haven't found any photos for 2005's installation yet. Good catch!

Thanks for the pictures! I can't believe they tape the christmas special so early. That makes sense that they would take down the icicle lights before it and maybe they will put them back up after. I kind of liked them.

And some tech info:

This show, an addition and expansion to the story told in Disneyland's holiday fireworks spectacular, "Believe in Holiday Magic", includes a scenic overlay of snow on the rooftops, towers, and turrets of Sleeping Beauty Castle. The scenic snow is embedded with approximately white 25,000 LED's, controlled by custom-built DMX-able control units. The custom-fabricated icicles add an additional 25,000 white LED's. There are an additional 1,000 LED's in the garlands, along with 500 LED strobes. The show also features the first installation of 500 next-generation, LED strobes, which are individually DMX-addressable and programmable. The remaining castle lighting package consists of Martin Architectural fixtures (EX 200's and EX 600's), Vari*Lite VL3000's, and ColorKinetics CB12's and ColorCast fixtures. The story is told in three acts, "Wish" (which opens November 16), "Dream" (which opens November 22), and "Believe". Programmed on a GrandMA by Brian Larsh.

Yuck!! I saw the new show last Tuesday. The castle looks radioactive. They just turn on at the start of the White Christmas song. It would maybe make more sense of the lights gradually turned on, as if snow were collecting on the castle and icicles were forming. Lastly, it's cheaply done - the lights don't go all the way around the turrets. So when you're on the Fantasyland side of the castle, you can see the lights are on, but they don't go all the way around. Boo!!!

The lights turn on at other times.

They go on before the fireworks start (there are 3 shows...I forget the times), and they gradually come on then.

Just wanted to report that the snow now goes all the way around to the Fantasyland side. :D

It took them a while, but I'm glad they didn't leave it half finished.
