I think it looks really neat, Nicole!

I really can't believe that the park will be all decked out for x-mas when we are there. I dont' think it has sunk in yet. You are so used to seeing it decorated like everyday, so it's really exciting to see the little bits that are done now and realize that they will be all decorated by the time we get there.

You're in for such a treat! The decorations are amazing! Disneyland is even more magical when it's decked out for Christmas.

LIGHTS!! :D

The icicles have also been removed....just as I was warming up to them. :(

I thought that was very strange, too. I was there Tuesday, and they had added more icicles since Sunday, then today, poof! All gone. Very odd...
In other news, the Christmas tree was being decorated behind Splash Mountain today. I'm guessing it will show up on Main Street any day now. I have pictures of the Castle and the tree if anyone is interested.

The lights will look great! So do you think they are not going to do the icicle lights now?

OT-Nicole, thanks so much for posting that link in picture of the day to the storybook canal with the characters. It looked like a fun ride! That's probably the only way my kids would think that ride is enjoyable.

Post them! I'd love to see the pictures!

Nobody knows about the icicle lights yet. I really hope they come back.

And you're welcome. :)

Here are the pictures, all of which were taken yesterday (11/8), so most likely aren't current anymore:

And a bonus It's a Small World Holiday shot. The CMs were saying it "might" open today.

I might go over during the weekend. If not, I'll be there Tuesday or Wednesday for sure. I can't stay away for more than a few days...
*grumbles*
Stupid school preventing me from going to DL every week...

I don't know what I'm going to to when I go off to college.
No more going to DL whenever I want to.

edit: Wow, that was off topic. Sorry about that...just needed to vent for a second.

I seem to have a lot of time to go lately. My company went out of business a couple of months ago and looking for a job in my field isn't going as well as I'd hoped, so I find going to my laughin' place keeps me from going insane. It's also an easier form of exercise.
But yeah, once I get a job I'm not going to be able to go as often again. Sigh.
Now we've both gone off topic. The topic police should be arresting us any moment now...

Disneyland is the best medicine. Without it, I think I would've gone crazy from the things going on in my life. It certainly helps you get away from the real world.

Good luck with the job search!

Okay, that was my last time going off topic....promise.

I'm sure we'll all feel for you Nicole, when you are like the rest of us and have to wait for yearly disney trips.

Oh, I was really just teasing you, Nicole. I would love it if I lived close enough to the parks to go regularly. I certainly wasn't trying to make you feel self centered. :)

Okay, so I went to the Park today anyway. I noticed yesterday there was a Job Fair going on at TDA, so I took the chance they might still be doing it today. They were, but I'm not available enough (already have plans for Thanksgiving and that's a no-no), and I'm looking for something more in the "career" side, so no go.
Anyway, I went into Disneyland (still in my suit) and wow, what a difference between yesterday and today. Still no icicles, but they've erected stages at both ends of Main Street for the ABC Christmas special, and taping will occur tomorrow (according to the sign). I'll post pictures of it in a couple of hours. The tree, though, still wasn't up, mostly I'm guessing because one of the stages was situated in that area. I'm also guessing the reason for the disappearance of the icicles was because they couldn't get them up in time for the show.
I have to say, though, tomorrow is going to be a bad day for filming the parade (the beginning of the three-day weekend). I thought they tried to do that stuff during weekdays so crowds are more manageable and they're not so intrusive to the guest experience. Oh well.
In other news, It's a Small World Holiday was up and running and bright and beautiful as ever. I noticed the white wreaths are no longer on the front of the boats, though. Maybe they'll appear later in the season?
Pictures to come soon...

The wreaths on the boats seem to have been missing for years now :( Oh and the parade tapeing also happened last year on Veterans Day weekend. Cant wait for the pics.

"Picture pages, Picture Pages. Time to do your Picture Pages. Time to get your crayons and your pencils." That should date me, if anyone gets the reference. If not, I'm sure I just come across as odd. I can live with that (and do!). So, rather than continue this silliness, on with the photos:

100_9238.JPG

Town Square Stage. There were also cameras along the right side of Main Street headed toward the Castle. I'm thinking they may have also done some taping today, but I didn't stay long enough to find out.
100_9236.JPG

There were about four of these signs - two at Town Square and two in front of the Castle.
100_9244.JPG

Not sure about the purpose of these two trees. They're behind all the cameras, so I doubt they'll be in any shots. Maybe they'll be moved closer to the stage before taping?
100_9249.JPG

The cameras and the giant teleprompter (the black rectangle with the grid) aiming toward the Castle.
100_9246.JPG

A shot of the Castle, the stage, and surrounding stuff. The thing under the silver cover is a piano. Anyone know who's going to be singing/playing here?

If I was a , I might go check it out tomorrow (now today). But I'm not. If you happen to be there, take lots of pictures!
