Hello all!
Hi and Bye.:wave::kiss:Hello all!
Ok, i had a really really bad day. But I don't want to talk about that. What I want to share is this:
Grant saw someone on a motorcycle drop some keys about a month ago. He went and got them and then I put them on Craigslist and then finally got around to putting them in the paper about a week and a half ago. On the keyring was an old gold(so I thought) ring with the words "1944 Sicily" carved on it. Just this morning I got a call from an older man and he and I sort of argued about the ring...he said it had his brother's initials on it. We finally agreed to meet at the church up the street so he could take a look.
All day I'm like "No way these are his keys...but I'll humor him". We get to the church and in pulls this motocycle...my jaw dropped...because two seconds before I said to Grant "We may not be able to see the initials but I bet if this is his brother's ring they would be the detail he remembered." I just knew it was him when I saw the bike, and it was.
The whole exchange lasted maybe two minutes, but I was so overcome with emotion. He told us the ring was actually a brass nut carved into a ring by his brother during WW II when he was holed up against the Germans and didn't think he would make it out. ANd then he asked what he owed us. I said "nothing but a hug". So we hugged and I got back in the truck and when Grant got back in he said "Did you see that? He had tears in his eyes."
God is so good. In big ways and small. I really needed this to happen today.
I'll vent my crappy day story later!
I'm sorta here.
Sometimes I do not like this school district we live in.
:fork:
I filled out PREP paperwork for Sherri back in Dec. so it would get turned in to the program. They needed a report card with it. Well since reportcards were just about to go out I was told that they would get it and send it in with the paperwork. Well I just called the PREP program office because I have yet to recieve any info about the summer for Sherri.
They didn't get her report card. Now I need to go to the school tomorrow and get them to fax this stuff to the program. :brick::brick:
I have been here wondering why we haven't recieve anything.
Now she most likely won't get the school she wants to go to.
I hope so.Ugh....I'm sorry, Susan. I hope things will still work out for her.
Busy!
You?
lol...no...it's definitely not. :kiss:It's been a busy day....did some stuff at school, went and got the oil changed in the van, went back to the school to take a look-see at Joel....his cheeks look a little swollen, but he's not fevered, or watery eyes, or looking like a reaction to a bug bite....all the school nurse and I could figure is that it's some kind of allergy, but as long as it doesn't get worse, we're just going watch him. By the end of the day, his nose was running, so I think we're just dealing with a run of the mill cold. :shrug:We'll see how the overnight goes.
Anyhoo, the school is having an ice cream social, so I helped get the toppings ready in the afternoon, picked up the kiddos and came home. Mike is on call, however, so we'll have to settle for having ice cream at home.
Probably more than you wanted to know, huh?
lol...no...it's definitely not.
Um...I asked my friend and she said yes...as long as she doesn't have to work and she gets the right papers in order from the Army so she can get her free tickets. So, it's not 100% yet, I'd say like 90%.Have you decided what you're doing about your possible July trip?
