"Sneaking" into Magic Kingdom early?

Okay, so I don't really mean "sneaking" in. But what I'm talking about is scheduling a breakfast at MK at 8 AM as a means of getting in there early and getting a head start on everyone else who gets there at 9 AM. I have seen posts here saying that you can schedule a breakfast at Crystal Palace as early as 8 AM. So what if I do that, and we are done eating around 8:30 or so? Can we get a head start on all the rides since we are already in the park? Or do the rides not open until 9 AM, requiring us to just walk around and enjoy the scenery before everything opens? Even if that's the case, we'd still have a head start, as we would already be in the park ahead of everyone else.

No, you will not be able to get a head start on the rides. The attractions do not open until 9 AM. Also, you will really not have a head start. I have been at the Magic Kingdom when it opens several times and they allow everyone into the park before 9 AM. People are allowed to wonder around the central hub, but like mentioned before, all the lands are roped off until 9 AM. By the time they drop the ropes people are piled up waiting to get into the lands. Most of the times once they drop the ropes, several CM's lead the now massive group of people through the lands to the major attractions, such as Splash Mountain and Space Mountain. On the rare occasion that the CM's don't lead the guests to the attractions, it becomes a huge sprint to get to the thrill rides first (probably why the CM's lead the guests). So, I really do not think you will have a head start, but you will get a chance to ride an attraction or two before the lines start to build up.

That's not the way it was when we went. We had to wait outside the turnstiles and wait for Mickey to pull in on the train and open the Magic Kingdom. Only then were we able to go into the park.

I'm not saying I question your account of things. It's just never been so for me when I have been there.

Unfortunately, heightened safety measures in conjunction with the Department of Homeland Security require Goofy and Tigger (taller character, long fingers, dontcha know?) to conduct probes on each guest prior to morning entry.

Understandably, this leads to a sizeable backup :)lookaroun) in the morning.

We've done CP for B, L and D, and for breakfast you can't beat it, if you have 8am ressie's, the park is just about empty. But you really don't need to give them the ressie number, they have a list with names for breakfast on them so all you need to do is not forget your name, or the name that the ressie is under, and in you go. :D Enjoy :slurp:
