You know what my favorite part about this absolute train wreck of a thread is?

We got a handful of folks in here that are following @21stamps from thread to thread hell bent on poking holes in every last one of her post because, from all I can see, she's just a bit of a about throwing her money around. On the other hand, we have a poster who literally lies about things to get mad about and no one here bats an eye.

The moral hills folks around here pick to die on is entertaining, baffling, and dismaying all at the same time.

Ok, for comparison to the DL photo above, this from Restaurantasaurus:

Yeah, great, that's RESTAURANTOSAURUS. People always pick the tiest thing at WDW and hold it up as if it's the norm. It's an OPTION. Walk literally five minutes from that place and you can have your pick:

You know what's funny?
I don't think anyone expects WDW prices to be in line with local restaurants. We were fortunate enough to be able to afford a vacation at Disneyland last year. We paid very high prices for food-- but felt it was worth it-- because at Disneyland, the Walt Disney Company is still offering a premium experience. Food quality and quality of service was WAY above what WDW offers. DL's idea of QS often involves real silverware, plates and a live band, not a half-cooked burger and greasy fries shoved into an under-sized paper basket.

Yes. I am aware of the food offerings at DLR. They have some good QS options that you would have to go to a TS at WDW to find, for the most part.

DL has burgers like this too. Comparing this burger to what is available at French Market isn't being honest. Probably comparing French Market to BoG is more accurate...not the food menu exactly, but quality/prices.

And you can find higher quality QS at WDW...it is just a bit more prevalent at DLR where they seem to focus less on TS.

Fair enough and good points, I'll admit it's not an apples-to-apples comparison and DL did have some less-than-choice options as well. But I still think one should be able to order a quality burger and fries and two kids meals at WDW without feeling ripped off afterwards.

But that wouldn't fit in with the narrative of the naysayers. ;) They seem to think that you HAVE to buy the $5 Mickey Bar or eat a sub-par burger. They act like there are no other options. I realize they are arguing about the price increase by itself, but they also don't seem to ever acknowledge that people have different options to combat the higher prices. They also don't seem to acknowledge that prices are ALWAYS going to go up, and there is NOTHING we on this board can do about it, but they seem to want to spout off about it anyway. I guess it keeps them from going crazy if they can rant on a message board.

I think people tend to under-remember the cost of things outside of Walt Disney World. A bacon cheeseburger at my local Five Guys is $8.69, no fries and no drink. A bacon cheeseburger with fries at Backlot Express is $11.29. Doesn't seem that outrageous to me.

And the bacon cheeseburger with fries at Backlot Express is actually really good.

I'm just here to help.
There's a place in Kenya called Giraffe Manor. It runs about $550. That's per person by the way, so $1,100 per night for a couple. Now tell me how outrageous Disney's rack rates are.
That's because giraffes don't understand hospitality economics.

My complaint is different than yours. I'd happily pay $1 more for kid's meals if they offered more choices. We either share or I order off of the adult menu for my kid a lot. Some places are exceptions, BOG has a QS shrimp meal for kids that is good.

One thing I recalled a few years ago that the Disney started selling their own brand of Chips and such...And then they vanished and went back to Lays brand...I'm wondering why they did this...Those Original & Bbq Kettle chips reminded me of Krunchers..

Which Marriott? Most I know charge for breakfast...unless its one of the ones the other poster referenced
Unlike Disney, Marriott has a reward program for frequent travelers. So, because of this, I have free access to the concierge lounge and it includes breakfast, beverages, snacks and appetizers and desserts in the evening. The only reason I mentioned the free breakfast is because the pp said they had 150 nights at Marriott, so I thought they would have the same access.

Does Universal have a rewards program? What about Atlantis? Beaches? Sandals? Any of the major vacation resorts?

Casino comps don't count. Atlantis has horrible comps anyway.
