We all knew it was coming. Doesn’t mean we have to like it though.
I can appreciate that. But if there’s anything worth giving up for (even if only for a few hours), it’s Disney.

I couldn’t agree more. Im not a smoker but discriminating will only run those smokers to other parks who allow it in smoking areas. They have the smoking areas so far out of the way I can’t see why it’s becoming a problem. There are many families who have smoking parents. Bad bad decision.I don't smoke, never have, don't like smoke at all, BUT I also think this is a bad idea and just not feasible. I feel bad for the CM's who will be asked to enforce it.
There is a walkway that goes past the monorail station towards GF. No one can walk into MK from that path, and it is inside the security screening area. Could that be the new smoking area for MK? No security screening needed, just go through the turnstiles each time. That's a good point - The area outside of the gate at the Magic Kingdom is so nice - it may become over crowded.
The smoking areas are not anywhere you would walk through clouds of smoke unless you make a point to go into the areas. By the way, I am NOT a smoker. Just think discrimination is the same whether you’re a smoker, black or foreign. It’s still discrimination. No one is garaunteed to be able to do their vice anywhere they choose and at any time... Smokers will adjust, the sky will not fall. I think all of the recent changes around Disney have proven that it does not natter which group of people the changes inconvenience, there are still that many and more people willing to pay to be there...
I will enjoy not walking through a cloud of smoke at different spots around the park and outside every building...
.....can't imagine anyone saying, 'Hey, guys, let's head over to Sea World, we can smoke there!I couldn’t agree more. Maybe not sea world but doubt you’ll hear anything. People will just do it......can't imagine anyone saying, 'Hey, guys, let's head over to Sea World, we can smoke there!
I think you show your ignorance here. The answer is that for a smoker to experience the same number of rides on the same day as a non-smoker (all other things being equal, e.g wait times), he/she will have to walk around 2.5 miles more and spend an extra 2 hours or so at the park.

I’m not a smoker and after visiting all the parks not once have I smelled the smoking area. We just avoid it. May be the best wayYes but my choice to remain healthy has no negative effect on you. I don't care if you choose to hurt yourself (Cut yourself, starve yourself, etc.) but if you choose to smoke, you're affecting both my help and my experience. Think of it this way, would you care if i was cutting myself as an addiction, absolutely not, but if everytime I cut myself I would run over to you and whip my dripping blood all over your face, clothes, and into your mouth for you to take into your body, I'm sure you'd have a problem with it. The bottom line is that your addiction is your addiction, keep it private and don't expect others without that addiction to suffer because of you.
AMEN! personally I’m not a smoker but have smokers that have been with us visiting Disney. They need to leave smokers alone. They already have them spread out in the middle of nowhere. If people don’t like the smell then don’t go to the smoking areas. It's easy to say that until you smoke
But I do agree, I've never understood not being able to go a few hours without. But addiction is real.
Many just don't understand it and I wish folks would get off their soapboxes about it.

You’re opinionNo, it really isn’t. Racism and xenophobia have led to some of the worst atrocities ever committed in history. That’s very different from telling a bunch of smokers to light up elsewhere. Get a grip.
In reality it becomes self policing after awhile. No one thought, years ago, that banning smoking in restaurants would work either. Non-smokers will rat out the smokers and first time offenders will just be asked to stop smoking. Repeat offenders or people who refuse will be trespassed by Disney as they do with other rule breakers. It will work out just fine.
PerhapsPerfect solution for everyone then!

But you have the problem with itI wrote: “Racism and xenophobia have led to some of the worst atrocities ever committed in history.” That’s a fact, not an opinion.
