Wow. I really hope this ride will get new boats that are comfortable. Anyway, too bad the loading is not being moved outside. Every other Small World has a large facade like at Disneyland's and the DL and DLP versions load outside while the Tokyo version loads in a small room inside the facades.

You know, DLP`s version is really strange (in a nice way) - it is a mirrored version of Orlando`s last version (the ramp down starts on the right hand side) and the loading area, water infront of the facade, the old fountains, its like Orlando without the roof. Except everything is covered apart from the water - the queue, load/unload, exit line and ride path have canopys over them. Lets see if Orlando gets this (the hanger roof in Orlando from the mural forwards is separeate to the ride building structure, so it can`t be that hard to remove)

None of the WDW-related demolition (or rehab) pics posted thus far have come close the the "erie-ness" or mass size of the Kongfrontation demolition at Universal Studios. I'm surprised there wasn't more posted on that demolition (in the Universal section, of course). Even the foundation in Kong was dug up and replaced for Mummy.

The reason is because Anaheim doesn't experience alot of rain.

Disney experiences heavy downpours. Even if there was the chance of showers it would be fine but Disney gets dangerous thunderstorms in Florida and that's why many things are kept indoors.

OMG! I had no idea what it was going to look like! I thought it was going to be fixing a doll up here and there or so! Not that! But if it makes the ride better, than it's worth it!

I think my jaw dropped though when I saw those pictures! Thanks MKT!

I was thinking about them switching the entrance / exit. If they do this would they switch the ride to go in the opposite or counter clockwise way from before?

Yup yup it can get pretty nasty sometimes...

But hey, how about a glass roof or something similar, to give it the "outdoor" queue feel....nice to know they're doing a pretty extensive rehab...

Great pics Rob!

Well we still have over half a year, hopefully the WDW will get this. And I find it very good news to find that the entrance room is a different building. Removing the roof would open up that part of Fantasyland and that area would be a much better place than it is now.

I always get facinated about the "behind the scenes" or closed door aspects.

Same here. I'm always keeping my eye's open for a CM coming out of a door around ride vehicle storage area's. I know there's usally nothing interesting worth seeing, but that whole curiosity thing always get's me. But I would never do anything that violate's park rules or infringe's on CM's break area.

Thanks for sharing the pics. MKT.

MKT, thanks for the awesome pics and keep them coming. What is the story with the construction at the skyway station? I saw the pics on the front page and assume it ties into Small World?

Don't forget the HID lighting they're using to do the work in there...

It's not going to be that bright... BTW, they were just painting the mural less than a year ago- in stages- with scaffolding and skirt cloth. All that has been done to the wall thus far is the removal of the lighted, 3-D shapes and sculptures.

Oh yeah...and the 'Monster Truck Show' in the foreground.

No. If they switched directions, they would have to redo A LOT of things (dolls, scenery, lighting, pumps, etc). The boats will go in the same direction as before.

Oh yeah, it's related to Small World.....more stroller parking.

And I agree, wonderful photos, MKT. Awfully brave of someone to put their life on the line to get those shots. Some CMs get kind of surly about that sort of thing. :lookaroun
