Those are some pretty good pics! Where in the ride are those pics from? It looks like the begining. I can't wait until it re-opens.

So is it possible that the "dirt" was trucked in to "protect" the existing floor, or is it really being replaced... Seems like replacing it would be odd to me...

All I can think of is I have to re-take the on ride video, hahahahha

Actually I am gonna to be insterested in what has changed. Long time to wait.

WOW...I literally jumped in my seat when I saw all the dirt. I had no idea it was gonna be such a huge rehab. Great pics. Keep them coming.

It's a Small World 3D...

haha..... no no no.... I've got an idea, -what if- one of the puppets sneezed, and then we could spray the guests with water...! We'll call it 4D! It's genius!!

..Something tells me this will catch on and before you know it we'll start seeing 4D attractions in theme parks EVERYWHERE!

I agree with the person who said the dirt is there to protect the real floor....it makes sense.....I wouldn't think there would be dirt there because I am sure there was a few feet of concrete under that water and it would make no sense and a long time to take up all that concrete....just my thoughts

Wow. Thanks for the pics. I know I've mentioned it before, but I used to work at small world, and it's VERY weird seeing it all torn up like that. I wish I could see a bit to the right of those pics, though, where the tower and panel is/was.

Wow. I really hope this ride will get new boats that are comfortable. Anyway, too bad the loading is not being moved outside. Every other Small World has a large facade like at Disneyland's and the DL and DLP versions load outside while the Tokyo version loads in a small room inside the facades.

Well, you know that means that they're going to have to have a re-dedication ceremony (sp?) unless they didn't have the water's of the world poured in on opening day like in Disneyland. If they didn't, I'm sure they could this time around . . .

Rumors were that Disney was going to reverse the direction of the load queue. Guess they are going to build an entire new load area as well.

I think the dirt is real. Meaning the floor is gone. In other posts about the rehab, they said the load/unload area is being redone. Well, in order to redo it, they need to re-route the boats into another configuration. Maybe thats why the floor has been torn up. Once they set the load area, the concrete will be poured.

As far as the thickness of the floor, it isn't that thick. The water is only about 2 foot deep. There isn't that much pressure on the floor as you may think.

Awesome photos as always MKT! Every time I was at MK in June, I kept itching to see what was on the other side of the blacked out windows!

I always get facinated about the "behind the scenes" or closed door aspects. Thanks for sharing! (And tell your friend to keep taking pictures!)
