Small World Refurb in August

Is anyone else devastated that Small World is being refurbished in August? I was planning on taking 3 of my small children on this for the first time then. It was definitely in the running for first ride to bring them on. Why do they need to refurbish it during the summer? Surely whatever it is could wait...

Yep that is very much the case nowadays. They avoid the very high spikes, like Easter, Thanksgiving, July 4 and Christmas/New Years Eve, but other than that, any time is fair game now.

It's a very difficult position for Disney, they get complaints for not enough refurbs, and they get complaints when they do a lot of refurbs.

This refurbishment, while no show changes, will increase load/unload efficiency.

I hope they don't change the ride too much. I've been going on it since i was a baby so it is one of my favorite rides!!

Hope we end up getting the It's a Small World Holiday overlay in the process.

All the other Disney parks around the world now offer that overlay, so it's time for WDW to follow suit and do it too.

Yes that is wrong.

The refurb won't have any show changes, a lot of infrastructure work, and boosting load/unload efficiency.

There will always be a refurb during someone's vacation!

I'm a little upset that IASW is down while I'm there... my daughter loves the ride and for me a trip to WDW is not complete unless we have a ride on "The happiest cruise that ever sailed"! But refurbs are necessary and I'm glad they do them (we'd complain a lot more if they never refurbed anything)!

Not that Gran fiesta is the best thing Disney has done but its sure better than what was there before.
