Small World Exterior

Just throwing this in from a back-stage POV, but it's really creepy if you're doing a walk-thru and the music's shut off and all the little kids are just moving back and forth emitting robotic noise. I've seen it.:lookaroun (I mean you wouldn't actually think the music plays all night do ya?)

Wow. That is flippn' scary. I'd pay to see that!

In order to bring excitement back to a ride that everyone loves to poke fun at, is it so bad to now have kids (and adults) sit there and try to find the new additions? What was interesting, after we got off the ride, there were a lot of people commenting on how they seemed to have missed some of the new additions and wanted to go back a second time to find them. That tells me that Disney did a good job of blending them in to the point that they weren't in your face.
That is the point' people will play games of spot the character They won't get the message of the ride.

How do you know people aren't getting the message of the ride? most people I know didn't even know or cared about the message of iasw. It's a nice message, but most people just want to go see the "singing doll" ride :dazzle:

have you even been on the ride since it was updated?

Well on the wdw site it does not list anything about a remodel so the attraction must still be operational... just doing a little something to it so no guests get hurt...

Yes, lets rip out one of the cornerstone attractions of every Magic Kingdom style park around the world.

Man, I can't see that one ever happening. IASW is one of Walt's babies from back in the '64 World's Fair days.

Ha, keep wishing and dreaming then, cuz thats not gonna happen.

I love how people just assume classic attractions will never close. Here are some examples.

20K under the sea
Mr. Toad
COP Leaves DL
People Mover in DL

Eh, I think most people hear what they want to hear in a conversation anyway, let alone song lyrics.

"_____ ...and a world of tears, ______ ...and a world of fears, there's so much that we share *like swine flu*, that it's time we're aware, it's a small world after all *but it'll still kill you eventually*."

// Would also pay good money to see the Cyberdyne dolls performing after-hours

EXACTLY! We all have ups and downs and who can we rely on here on the Earth, except for other people, to share our experiences. Honestly, the messages is just wasted on some...

Well, it may not go through to your head now, but as a kid it had to. There is really no other way. Children have diffrent thought patterns than adults, they analyze everything. I know that I understood the meaning when I was a kid. I had a shirt that had all of the kids holding hands. On the back it said, "It's a small world". I understood it. As an adult I remember what it means but I know longer need to analyze the ride. So, the problem is not that the ride has lost it's meaning, it's the fact that you have grown up! The meaning will always be there, you just have to remember! That is why abults are not allowed into Neverland. Because they forget the magic.

Sorry for all the typos.

To be fair, the two Disneyland examples were replaced with different attractions that seemed like a great idea at the time.

Carousel of Progress ran at Disneyland from 1967-1974 and was replaced by America Sings from 1975-1987. Since America Sings had a longer run at Disneyland, it could be argued it was more "succesful". The Carousel Theater at Disneyland is now used as the rotating lobby and lower level of Innoventions and the Home of the Future.

The PeopleMover ran at Disneyland from 1967-1995. It was replaced by the Rocket Rods in 1998, which were an epic failure and mercifully closed in 2000.

I haven't.:animwink: Oh TP2000' Innoventions at Disneyland is probably the biggest waste of space I have ever seen.

i'm just glad it fits the theme of Tomorrowland and has been kept updated with the new House of the Future (which was added last year). You have to admit it is way better than having MILF or Stitch's new show built in its place ;)

Absolutely' However the new House of the Future has a tacked-on story that is not needed and Innoventions works better in Epcot rather than the sad case that is Disneylands Tomorrowland. (heck' now any version of Tomorrowland.)

First off, each of those only closed at 1 park. 20k closed in FL and became Nemo in CA. Toad is in CA, COP and People Mover/TTA are both in FL. If that rule stands, then technically they could close our iASW as long as the one in CA is still standing, but it won't happen. That ride is considered "untouchable" I'm sure.
