Slight let down

As usual no one reads my post just what upsets them.I am a annual passholder that always stays on Disney property. Now my only very small gripe was shouldnt a annual pass that a person has for a year be made out of something better than paper.Thats all! Dont want a keepsake house is full of that stuff anyway.I understand that this military grade paper is so strong and better than plastic.Since I tore mine hopefully in September they will switch me out with one with the stronger paper.

And what you're not getting is that your tickets IS partially made of plastic. Each ticket has a layer of Tyvek lining the paper. This is more durable than plastic alone, will last longer, and is easier and cheaper to replace.

Personally I have never, and more than likely will never, get the fascination, obsession, or what ever you want to call it over ticket medium at WDW. I don't get a ticket for a move or a concert and feel slighted because it is printed on paper stock. Who cares what it is printed on? As far as I am concerned it could be printed on the back of a Hooter's napkin as long as it gets me into the parks I am good with it.

Totally agree with you!

Yes, and look at the state of a Key to the World card after 2 weeks..

There are several thick lines running accross the card due to multiple insertions into turnstyles, hotel doors and Fastpass machines - the plastic cards are not as hard wearing as the "paper" cards.

Not had a paper ticket for years - although the La Nouba tickets are printed on exactly the same material.. not an issue to me!

I'm amused that you said that since from your grammatical prowess on the boards I had you pegged for around 11 or 12. Unless your kids are almost 40, I don't think you're even in the ballpark.

Im not really worried about saving Disney money. But Im sorry treat annual passholders a little different than day ticket people.Or to save even more Disney money have no ticket at all .They have our finger print or they could tatoo a number on our hand (oops thats already been done )didnt go well.

First of all why should Disney bow down to those who buy seasonal passes. All that person is doing it trying to save money, trying NOT to give Disney as money as could be made off of day visitors. Disney is actually making LESS off of you than the average guest, so why spend MORE making a ticket that you can gloat over.

After dealing with an hour and a half of trying to get a hard ticket with my picture printed on it for another park, I am VERY glad I don't have to deal with that at Disney. The paper tickets seem to run into less problems than the hard ticket ones. They also fit better in my wallet and take up less space.

I like the tickets/Annual pass stock... I collect them.. I have an Incredibles one and a Splash Mountain one with Dwarfs on it. I think the paper tickets make great souvenirs. They have nice artwork on the back.

i know where the op is comin from, it would be nice to have a better quality ticket that COULD be kept as a souvenier. we went for 14 days and a few days in using the paper ticket with park hopping and water parks, the thing was knackered, and held up lines no end at the turnstiles as it wouldnt scan, so went to guests services who transfered all the data to a plastic card same as the keys to the world card, which worked perfectly well every time.
by the way to transfer your park tickets on to your keys to the world card, you must be staying less than 8 days, as its not able to transfer more than that on to the one card.

Bow to me as I am the mighty Passholder:king: over 8500 posts and your not a passholder, dont you go much? So Disney can save money giving me a paper ticket but I cant save money because I go 4 times a year and have a annual pass?If Disney is hurting that much then dont offer a annual pass.Happy Birthday:wave:

I'm inclined to agree with you. And sometimes the paper stuff is easier to create albums and collages out of for my wife when we document the trip.

But when we return home and think back on our trip it would be nice to have a sturdy, shiny, quality keepsake ticket to spark our memories.

I still have the tickets from the first trip my wife and I took together in 1999.

They're in good condition and stashed away in our World of Disney shopping bag that has all of our food receipts, parks tickets, room keys, and park/resorts maps from the past 10 years.

Yes it sounds like me from another thread talking to someone else...your point is? :veryconfu:shrug: Does this have anything to do at all with the post you responded to, where you think everyone else on the board is a child due to their lack of reasoning skills (well, you said resoning but I assumed you meant REASONING) or do you just like to randomly quote me having no context to the topic of discussion?

So i guess, in that case i'll end with a random quote from you from another thread...

Ok Krankenstein you are such a funny person:ROFLOL:Dragging up things from other posts.

But I digress...back to the topic. If the AP's were made of a different, more expensive material which is actually less durable and therefore possibly requires replacement, then the cost of the AP would go up. I suspect more people would prefer the cost of the AP to stay the same and have it be less esthetically pleasing when viewed as a souvenir (as opposed to it's primary function which is to get you in the parks at a discount). They still can be used as a souvenir and if they get a little worn looking...all the better I say. A shiny new pass has no story to it...a weathered pass says I have been there, done that and have the AP to prove it!
