Skyliner Possible Expansion Routes

In addition to the weather, the stupid decision to not have a separate ECV offloading area at the Riviera station necessitates the entire thing coming to a stop about every 2 minutes, it seems. Some days it is really bad. At each other station, the gondolas have a separate area they seamlessly glide into which doesn't effect the ride of the ride. The decision to not do this at Riviera is mind boggling and results in a lot of stops that didn't need to happen.

Of course in the summer, it is basically guaranteed to close for at least a period of time almost every afternoon. That's just Florida. I think Disney is not likely to spend the money anytime soon on this, even if I think a link to AK /AKL or Blizzard Beach would be nice, as long as it was done in a way to not disrupt the atmosphere of those areas too much.

What would be the advantage of that?
I think they are just trying to take the Riviera midline station out of the equation since it’s the least efficient part of the entire system.

Ideally they should have built the transfer station next to Riviera. That transfer station would have served both Riviera and CBR and had lines running from there to Epcot, DHS, and POP/Art. That way you’d have the same number of lines and same resorts served but you’d have no midline station.

I can agree with that…but you know dedicated lines to only a “moderate” would have gotten the grumpy face. No annual dues? Surley ye jest?

I’m shocked they put the AoA station in at all? But I’m sure they assumed doubling the price would happen there too…since they swim in the big, blue ocean

For guests traveling to Epcot - shorter and more direct trip with no stops for ADA at R.

For guests traveling from Riviera - short lines (guests often have to wait for an open cabin in my experience).

For all guests - better experience without unexpected stops.
The hotels are a caste system…always have been…and no matter what they say will always be. A direct line from Caribbean would never get the go ahead. The only reason there is sorta one to studios is because of geometry and limiting cost.

Oh yeah - and that’s why it was built the way it was. But operationally I think they would reconsider if they had to do it all over again since. Maybe not.

There wouldn’t really be a dedicated like to only a “moderate” in the plan I mentioned. CBR would simply share the Riviera station.

It kinda does? Aruba is right there

Honestly…the only reason for the layout is to try and connect the dak spur off the switch station at boardwalk?

But I don’t think it’s given them Nearly what they wanted…so it probably ends where it is now

No insider info…just the facts available to fit a hypothesis…

So, how many more years until they just give up on the Skyliner? I'm betting about 8 more years until something happens on the line. Disney thinks it's unsafe they close it down as busses become the norm once again saving billions in electrical costs and be as extinct as the one like in MK and DL..

100 years?

Why would they retire something like that helps fill up rooms and adds value per night to all resorts connected to a station?
