Six Flags Bankrupt

I have heard nothing but bad things about the six flags parks in california and New Jersey.

Can't speak for SF in California, but as for the one in New Jersey. It a good park with some of the best roller coasters in the world.
I have been a season pass holder for the past 4 years. I try and go a few times a year.

And my family loves the safari. Driving through and have some of the animals come right up to our car. My kids LOVE it. As cool as the KS is in AK, the you never really get that close to the animals.

The only thing I really don't like about SF is the clientele. You tend to get a rougher crowd that are there for the thrill rides. They tend to be on the rude side and not concerned with the families with smaller children.

We have two Six Flags parks in CA. Six Flags Magic Mountain, in Southern California, is the king of coaster parks.

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, in Northern California, is the one that's closer to where we live. It's in Vallejo, which is about an hour's drive. Like Magic Mountain (and I'm sure several other SF parks), it was not originally built by Six Flags. It actually started as a park called Marine World/Africa USA and was primarily an animal park with dolphin shows, a zoo, etc. Six Flags bought it several years ago and started adding coasters. Just a couple of years ago, they changed the name. They don't have as many coasters as some of the other SF parks, but they do have some good ones. Medusa, in particular, is awesome. It is a floorless coaster, similar to Kraken at Sea World in Orlando.

Speaking only for the one in Vallejo, California, I was incredibly and pleasantly surprised to find that the employees and the clientele were great!! It had been about 7 years or so since I'd been to this park, and we decided this past Saturday to take a drive down there and ride some coasters. On the drive there, my girlfriend was telling me that the last time she went there, the place seemed really "ghetto" and that she didn't stay very long. I told her it would probably still be that way, but that we should adopt the philosophy that we're just there to ride coasters, and we could always leave if it turned out to be "scary". Much to our astonishment and surprise, we found the employees and the clientele to be incredibly friendly and polite. It was crowded, which tends to bring out the worst in people, and yet everyone was still great. We actually both commented on how friendly everyone was. I told her that when we got home I was going to post here and tell everyone how pleasantly surprised I was that the people at Six Flags were actually more consistently friendly than what I've encountered at Disney parks in recent years... and that I'd probably get flamed for doing so.

I haven't been to Six Flags Over Georgia in awhile, but it was always nice and clean. I always had a good experience when I visited.

Except for the bubblegum tree at Thunder River. :hurl:

(hopefully they've either cut it down or cleaned it up since the last time I was there)

I recently visited SF Over Georgia. It was probably one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a theme park. I live in Georgia and have been going there for years and this time it was just awful. All of the workers were rude and didn't care about what they were doing at all. I saw one operator at the sky buckets texting on his cell phone and joking around with his fellow employee. The employees didn't even have a system for putting people on the rides. Everyone seemed to all pile up where everyone gets on the ride. The only clean area with workers that cared was in the kids looney toons section. The queue was orderly and the ride operator made it fun for the kids. It was dirty as well. There was trash littered all over the ground and the water ride's water looked almost like a sewer. The park guests are rude as well. I understand that it's all roller coasters and if that's all you have to ride you will draw a younger crowd but, still they should be considerate. This young girl even pushed me and yelled move. I have never felt so angry in my life. NEVER would I do that to anyone. I'm not an older person, I'm only in my late teens, but still me and my friends were thoughtful of other people's experience. Another big draw back was that there really wasn't anything to do. We arrived at 10, rode everything and were done by 4. The longest line was 20 minutes. We were literally searching the park for something to do. It's no wonder they went bankrupt. If only people cared more about what they were doing... They aren't just workers at a theme park. They are creating an experience for the guests.

i cant stand Six Flags America, the people there are rude, the park is dirty and most of the rides constantly break down. i guess thats what happens when the owner also owns the Redskins....
