Ok, I just got finished watching a special on A&E about HP & the GOF...it was really quite interesting and I suggest that if any of you can catch it, watch it.
I do have an answer about why Dumbledore is the way he is. They spoke about this in the show. To the director (and I'm sure lots of other movie people) this is the first time that Dumbledore is infallable. (I more than likely spelled that wrong.) This movie is supposed to show that despite what we believe as readers of the book, that Dumbledore doesn't know everything. This movie is also supposed to show that Dumbledore is actually scared for Harry because he knows that something is going on that isn't good, but doesn't know exactly what it is yet. He fears for Harry. (Which I think actually does make sense when you look at the fifth book and the fact that Dumbledore doesn't have much contact with him because he is scared of what might happen if he would.)
Therefore, those of you who thought that Dumbledore was this perfect person might have been mistaken and this movie is supposed to prove that Dumbledore has flaws...and leads to the idea that perhaps these flaws end up causing his downfall. (Sorry if I might have ruined anything...but I figure most of us here knows what happens in later books).

I hope this helps explain things a little bit better because it did for me.
But did you ever think that you may be reading into Dumbledore's character wrong??? I'm not saying you are wrong...just playing Devil's advocate.Connor002 said:I've already seen that, but I still don't agree with it.
Dumbledore is Dumbledore, and I don't think they should change his character this way.

yeah...gotta love pinball!! I guess we'll never truly know the truth about Dumbledore's character unless JK Rowling comes out with info about it.Connor002 said:It's a fun game, isn't it?

I could be wrong, but it still just dosen't seem quite to see Dumbledore that way. Eh, but what can you do...
