I read constantly on here about people being attacked by strollers and it's funny because I can't remember a single time where this has happened to me. Maybe it's because I walk too fast idk.

There is a major difference between fat people and fat/lazy/slob people.

There are overweight people who dress appropriately and walk through the parks - and probably don't eat healthy because who eats healthy in Disney? But then there are the fat people who wear clothes too small for them, are too lazy to walk so they rent scooters and sloppily eat their food. (but yea if you're really pushing the obese limit - a turkey leg is probably not the best "snack" of choice)

It's not about being overweight - it's about the way you handle yourself.
Im no skinny person, but i walked all 4 parks for a week, sure my feet hurt on occasion, but i wouldn't be caught dead on a scooter... its Disney...enjoy the walk.

I walk fast too. But this lady literally steered into me even though there was plenty of room on the other half of the walkway. This occurred on the walkway coming from the hub into Tomorrowland. My wife (runmyhorse) can vouch for it actually happening and we both looked at each other like ?

Exactly. After walking 10 miles per day...everyone's feet hurt regardless of size. After speed walking to get Soarin' FPs then speed walking over to Test Track then back to Soarin' to ride - a lot of people would be out of breath/need a break. It's the people who realize that and realize its OK to take a break if you are feeling tired or winded from walking that are different (in a good way). It's the one's who say "oh i'll get tired - better get a scooter" that are different in the bad way.

Be happy you have the ability to walk. Many people don't. Plus - if they are in a scooter because they ate themselves there...then they NEED the walk!

My biggest Disney grievances...

Other people being obnoxious - flash photos on dark rides, screaming/talking through entire rides/shows, not moving down to the end of the row (unpatriotic), walking 6 people in row, cutting/saving places in line, complaining (isn't it ironic, don't ya think?), letting their 10 year olds ride in double strollers because they're so big (and oh yea...10 years old!!) that they don't fit into regular ones, people who abuse/ate their way into an ECV...
I HATE the flash pictures on dark rides. I get that you want a memento of every second of your trip, but your flash is blinding me and ruining my ride experience. NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY.

When I stayed at Pop, the walk to my car was past an area that doesn't get much sun. The ground was mud with some moss growing on it. I had that going on in my old house, near the woods, under a tree, and know how hard it is to keep grass growing. But by the end of each summer, I'd have it all set.

In Orlando, there is no winter. They could keep up with this if they tried. And I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that if this were going on at the GF, they would.

It smelled bad, too.

That was the walk to the car every morning until I started remembering to go a different way to avoid it.

I think that was my biggest little thing that bugged me, but didn't bug me enough to REALLY bug me.

people who say 'i'm going to Disneyland!' and i say, 'oh, paris, anaheim....?' and they say 'no, florida!'. ERGH.
people who don't understand that Disney started with one person, Walt, (ok, 2 with his brother) and they just think it's a company.
people who just don't get 'Disney'... 'oh, it's for kids, it's so sad, i'd never go there, and i don't understand anyone who wastes their money!'. well, there's your problem. you've never been, you don't understand it so stop passing judgment on those who do!

queue hoppers. they annoy me wherever i am.
changes in voiceovers. like the above poster about the TTA. why change it if it's not broken? leave things alone!
people invading your personal space in queues. when we were queuing for Peter Pan, a kid kept knocking into my legs and leaning on me. i gave him one hell of a glare. but also people with massive back packs who don't realise how massive their backpack is until they swing round and smack you in the arm.

I'm fat.... but FAT people bother the hell out of me, like the "people of walmart" types

put the turkey leg down, stop slurping down the coke, and get out of your electric scooter

It's the scooter part that really gets me! My mom actually needs a scooter and we have to force her to use one, then there are some that should be walking but are too lazy! Mom also tries to stand in the regular line as often as possible, but if it's too long (she can't stand for long periods, like more than 10-15 mins) we make her go to the wheel chair line. Is it wrong that we are often grumbly that we don't get to take advantage of the wheel chair line often enough cause mom is so difficult?!

Oh my gosh! I HATE the strollers! Last year at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom I got soooo irritated at the sea of strollers over by "it's a small world". The sea of strollers took up more room than the pathway to walk through! Really? I understand that some kids need strollers but I remember when I was a kid that we didn't even go to Walt Disney World unless we were going to walk the entire time! I think parents baby their kids these days. I swear there are more strollers than people sometimes!

We do bring our stroller every time because we don't want to deal with a grouchy 4 year old and she does nap in it. The only time I really "do the stroller thing" is using it to save spots for parades. DH often goes to get a snack while we are waiting for the 3 o'clock parade. We get there early and claim our spot and then condense when DH gets back. More often then not we park the stroller to go on rides and forget about it and have to go hunting for it 10 rides later (especially in Fantasyland!) Those who do not abide by proper stroller etiquette drive me nuts, it's just rude to use that thing like a weapon and I always feel sorry for the kid holding on for dear life! Also, 10 is waaay too old to be in a stroller!

People who don't clear their tables at Quick Service Restaurants.
People who appear to be obviously abusing Guest Assistance Passes. I say appear, because all medical conditions are not always apparent, so I try to just let it go.
I'm sure I could come up with a dozen more as could we all, but why focus on the negative.

OH yes. and anyone who throws trash on the ground. There are garbage cans every 10 feet or so - you can't hold onto it for a little longer?

So really 95% of my complaints are with guests of Disney World.

That 5% is with little things like changing the narration on TTA or the lack of villains in the parks = little things but nothing big enough to keep me from coming back.

1. People that stop dead smack middle of a place and whip out the camera.
2. Groups that walk 4-5-6 wide and really slow. I am and always will be a fast walker. Move or get out of my way.
3. People that hold place in line. I don't want one person holding spot for 15 people
4. Parents that keep their kids out way too late and then can't reign them in when the inevitable meltdown occurs.
5. Parents with strollers that won't break'm down.
6. People with cameras that use them on dark attractions (please no flash photography)
7. Large annoying tour groups that are chanting and acting a fool

I know it sounds silly, but pool hoppers and people who sneak into Concierge level lounges. I realize its none of my business, but that bothers the bejesus out of me.
As it should.

If you're dropping the coin to stay at resort XYZ you shouldn't have people from another resort hopping. I'm paying to use the Beach Club and you can stay at the All Star Pop.

If you're dropping the $ to be in club level - you shouldn't have someone else in it. I don't drop the extra $100 a night for it so I stay the heck out

I understand the scooter issue. I try not to judge. Sometimes the scooter rookies are bad because they can't drive the things. There is really only one time a scooter got me angry at the Magic Kingdom and I did something I shouldn't. The fireworks had just completed and I was on the bridge between the hub and Tomorrowland with the masses trying to move. A "lady" in a scooter comes up behind me and starts to hit her horn. After a couple of times of this, I turn around and ask her to stop because everyone is stuck in the mess. She keeps doing it. Then she bumped the back of my leg. That was it. Before anyone in her party could react, I quickly turned around, grabbed the key, turned it off and then heaved the key deep into the Stitch queue and walked away fuming. I really almost chucked it into the water. I wanted to bad. I just lost my cool on that.

Okay, since this is now stuff that actually bugs you and should...

People who stand close to me in line. Nobody gets anywhere faster by crowding in. A little space is nice. And the less people in an area, the cooler it stays. :)

People who light up dark rides and movies. If your kid can't sit through the ride/movie without ruining it for others, skip it. Take care of emails, texts, etc. before or after the ride/movie. And stop taking pics.

Line jumpers. Disney has to stop allowing this.

People who push their children so hard that the kids are crying and/or whining that they're tired and want to leave. I just feel so badly for those kids. Let the poor kids sleep!

My sister. She keeps saying that it's hot. She KNOWS that it annoys me when people complain about the obvious, like heat, cold, etc. yet she does it repeatedly. Can't stop herself. One time, after many trips of this and many I Knows and many ignoring it, while we are walking along, I let her have it...which is really uncharacteristic of me and she knows that. "YES, I KNOW IT'S HOT! I'm hot, too. See all these people?! They're all hot! Everyone is hot! So you can stop telling everyone how hot it is!" We walk a few more steps and she calmly replies, "I didn't tell everyone. Just you."

I think that's it. I don't think anything else bugs me.

  • Grown children in strollers
  • Not moving down to the end of the row when it will clearly be a very full show
  • People who beep their ECV horns repeatedly rather than say "Excuse me" to get through groups of people.
  • Fastpass jokes... "Man, it's almost like you need a Fastpass for the restrooms."
  • Smoking in non-designated areas.
  • Countdown to Fun Parade
  • GAC card abusers
  • Flash photography in dark rides and screen attractions (Soarin', Monsters, Crush, etc)
