What the hell is this obsession with "clone" like they were some type of mortal sin. The idea that they shouldn't duplicate attractions is ridiculous. Part of the justification for MK was that there was an entire untapped market on the east coast. It seems like people think that everyone can just up and jet off to the west coast to see something "unique" to Disneyland and vise-versa. Reality check... it is a small minority that can afford to travel across the country to see a two minute attraction. Those of us lucky enough to have done it at least once should try and understand that in many ways we are privilaged.

There is no reason not to duplicate and a massive number of reasons why they should. We shouild just move on away from that thought pattern and be a little tolerant of those less able to do that and would like to experience good attractions regardless if they are 3000 miles to the west or 3000 miles to the east.
The Magic Kingdom attractions that are also at Disneyland are interactions. They were updated and reworked. Even The Haunted Mansion, where they produced two of everything, has a different configuration and building for the Magic Kingdom. That is not the case with TRON.

What @lazyboy97o said. Hidden doesn't mean disappear. Hidden means it's still there, but less visually intrusive. That's all. As was being discussed, trees and shrubbery is an easy way to hide something. Disney does it all the time.
The project isnt even finished yet. Whats to come, the last minute details that arent building, that might be inserted around to block those unsightly views they are whining about can be added. So its premiture to start griping about what they see right now isnt it?

Where do you live that warehouses aren’t big boxes?

Disney was under no obligation to drop down a box from elsewhere with little consideration because they were panicked about a situation they created. There were any number of things they could have done to reduce the visual impact.
It was planned for MK. No other park was said to have Tron from the start. They added it where it was best capable of having the large site. And the attraction isnt just a square box. Any warehouses I know of has 4 square walls, no canopies, no outside strobing lights, no train running through. So yeah it isnt a warehouse.

It was not planned for the Magic Kingdom. That they just dropped it in a plot where it would fit as is is evidence of that.

It is a warehouse. It is built like a warehouse. Warehouses absolutely are not just uniform squares but this building is adjacent rectangles. The view in questions is specifically of the big box. The canopy is completely separate from the building. The railroad does not go through the building.

No, because things can’t just be added in that sort of manner.

This version wasn’t planned for MK.

D23 Expo 2017... Disney announced Tron being added to MK.
Every site that followed up the announcment that Tron was coming stated it is going in at MK.

In a couple years the trees and shrubs will grow up and you won't see the tron building, that and whatever else they plant there will cover it, jeez at least wait until.its open before you complain

Meant to say through the area but its close enough to be considered part of the site. Photos of the tunnel build puts it so its as close to the building as possible without going through. Its been stated that RR riders will get Tron detail views so its close enough.

Of course things can be added. Disneys always tweaking plans. Nothing says once a building is finished nothing can be added.

Umm… am I missing your point?

It was designed for Shanghai.

Then proposed for DHS. Then Epcot (I forget which way around)
But they made the announcement to the public that it was going into MK. They can propose it and design it before hand but other considerations were made to finalize the decision that the best fit was in MK. Cost, site needs, guest draw, whatever made them change over from EP or DHS, nothing was just plopped down without consideration of where Tron would be best for WDW.

This isn’t anywhere close to true. The railroad is about as far from the building as possible while still going under the tracks. At its closest the railroad is around 200’ from the building.

The things being discussed are not small tweaks.

200'. Yeah thats half way across the park.
The point is things CAN be added. Nothing is finished until its finished.

Never said it was or wasn’t.

Except it’s a clone of something designed for somewhere else.

The announcement tells you nothing. The project is a “lift” so-called because you lift up the design and drop it in a new place with as few changes as possible.

You said it was as close as physically possible without being in the building. That is clearly not true.

By this notion nothing is finished because they could always someday make radical changes so we can’t criticize them now because they could do that some day. Construction happens in sequences, not in whatever random order, so yes, some things are finished.

This is a strange response that misses the point.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with building a clone. I said there was something wrong with building this specific clone in this specific location, because of the massive unthemed building towering over other areas.

Maybe they need to take that piece of “art work” on the building on I-4 and put it on the ride buildings…they could turn it off during the fireworks lol
