Judi Dench is not the problem. What they have her saying is.

Oh...no doubt. The problem with the 82 version was that it forgot the "-tainment" part of edutainment...It was boring and the lack of scoring made it even worse. I would gladly take the current version (on the way up only) over the original.

For me, you almost need to split the ride into two parts for ranking...Going up and coming down.

For me, in order going up, I would go Irons, Cronkite, Dench (Huuuuuuuuuuuuge chasm) 82.
Going down, Cronkite, Irons, (Huuuuuuuuuuuuge chasm) 82, Dench.

The current script is intelligence-insultingly bad.

I wouldn't go that far...Its definitely intelligence "lite" compared to the older versions, but at least it has some entertainment and quote value...Just ask the Phoenicians. Seriously, though, its not as good as the last two versions, but its not toxic awful. Its just bad in comparison to the classic that preceded it.

Aha! The mysterious connection to Club 33, confirmed! ;)

3 sides in a triangle, the all seeing eye is a triangle, Mickey mouse logo has 3 circles for a head, spaceship earth is a giant circle that shows the creation of technology, technology the New World Order uses to see and hear all...It all makes sense...Walt Disney is alive and seeks world domination via technology that can read minds via AI learning via seeing and knowing all our actions.

CONSPIRACY!!!!

I would like to see this attraction take on the old and the new.. Just re-create each scene so its new with a new look but keep the story similar. But do more with the top of the dome and decent to add to the story, not a 10 year old video that really doesn't change. Even update that graphic portion of the attraction.

I assume this is sarcasm, but historically, most Future World attractions have looked at the history of a particular category. It helps tell the story.
Sarcasm with a point. The majority of the edutainment ride is history, not the Future. And what it has for the Future is weak. People complain about what doesn't belong in Future World thematically, and this doesn't, but it gets a pass for some reason (hint: it's nostalgia). Yes, it's edutainment, but it ain't the Future.

If you're talking about Spaceship Earth as a whole, I couldn't disagree more. If you're talking strictly about the descent, I'm with you. Having said that, Horizons and World of Motion offered up some cartoon-y weird views of the future with some playful looks at history as well. The progression is necessary and certainly helps keep things fresh (and yes, that's deliberate - a focus on history keeps things fresh).

Of course, I'm also of the opinion that they should rename Future World to Discovery Expo and move Space Mountain, it's a small world and Carousel of Progress there.

Ehhhhhhh...not quite. Future World at opening had one huge theme that every ride followed. Show the history of given theme and finish with INSPIRATIONAL FUTURE!!!

UoE: Where does energy come from-> How we get energy today-> Where will we get energy tomorrow
Horizons: How did people look at the future in the past?-> Examples of future living
WoM: History of transportation-> Current transportation-> City of tomorrow/future car
SE: History of communication->current communication technology -> space/satellites/future communication possibilities
Living with the land: difficulties in farming varied difficult environments-> Greenhouses with future technologies and examples of taming previous environments
Living Seas: Video on man and our historical relation to the sea-> BEHOLD SEABASE ALPHA!!!
JII: Literally the only ride that did not follow this theme

If SE doesn't fit, then I cant wait to hear your thoughts on Figment...The problem is the name future world, when it really should be Aspiration World or Inspiration Land

just needlessly aiming for the lcd...
didn't in 82 or 84, didn't need to in 95, but apparently must in 2007

hey, if you can't stick coaster in, might as well speak to folks as if they're in the queue for one.
... and yeah, certainly not dame judi's fault

Well then, it's always been misnamed. Innoventions tried to be about 'The Future', but continually became outdated.

Its the same issue that has always existed in Tomorrowland and acknowledged by Disney in the remake of that area...The future just outruns construction projects and attractions. The answer to the problem in the MK was just to give up on the future and go with a fun retro future.
