You know what's funny?
When I rode it on Saturday the touchscreen at the very beginning didn't ask where I was from. Does this just happen from time to time or is this new?
It asks at the end on the descent.

Is that a new thing? Because it always used to be at the beginning. It asks at the end on the descent.
I can't say how much I support and love this thought.I just hope the attraction keeps its theme and narration, and isn't eventually abandoned for some cutting-edge thrill ride. With all the rumblings about Epcot's imminent overhaul, I worry about the fate of the attraction under current management.
Even with the currently-lackluster finale, Spaceship Earth is one of the greatest attractions ever conceived, and deserves to be preserved.
I'm pretty sure that's not right. I remember this because I chose German last time I rode it and got lectured to in...well, German throughout the entire ride.It asks at the end on the descent.

Both should happen at the beginning. Language, then location, then picture. You choose the language you want at the beginning. But you mark yourself on the map at the end.
Unless I am completely misremembering my latest ride from September.

Siemens signage is still up
Welp I'm going to have to go back on again lol I missed it so I can't confirm. Sorry. I'll go back this week for sure and rideDo they still also say "On Behalf of Siemens Welcome Aboard" and "Welcome back, time travelers. Now, Siemens invites you to visit Project Tomorrow—an exciting world of new ideas and innovations, made possible by Siemens’ ingenuity." I'm sure it would be easy for them to remove it but, just was curious as this is part of the ride audio...
Just because they are not going to renew the contract doesn't mean that the current one has expired yet. They may still be there until the exact day that the contract expires. Just a guess on my part, I have no inside information.
Could be... it was just a guess, but, it is not like Disney to give credit to someone else for very long. And it is only 4 days into December. We will see.If I remember correctly, the deal was set to expire sometime in November.
Announcer on SSE still says "Seimens" as of this past Saturday.
What about the Closing Narration of Illuminations?
Just rode and yes, all mentions of Siemens in audio form are still there. Here's a pic of the sign as wellDo they still also say "On Behalf of Siemens Welcome Aboard" and "Welcome back, time travelers. It makes sense that they'd dissociate themselves more quickly from that sponsorship. It's gone from that
