So...I have a question. Has anyone here ever showed some kindness by paying for other family members to visit WDW? Myself, dh, dd, and newborn due Feb 20 are planning to visit WDW in Sept 2011:sohappy:. Well we are seriously considering paying for my father, mother, sister(18) and brother(16) to go as well. They have'nt been since 2001 and they only visited MK. They have never been to any of the other parks within WDW either. We are not the richest of families but with much saving, income tax:lol: and doing without I believe that we can do this. I was just curious if anyone else has done this before and what were the outcomes. Thanks!

I can say that even through my adult life my parents have repeatedly shown kindness to help / pay in full for my entire family's vacation. It is truly my greatest wish that someday I will be in a place where I can return the favor for them. So, in other words, I have not been on the giving end, but my DW, DD, and I have been on the receiving end of the equation, and we're thankful in every way.

In 2004 we paid to bring my in-laws along on the Disney trip for their 50th anniversary. It was a wonderful trip.

And while this isn't Disney related, my mom and dad are paying to take hubby and I with them to Vegas at Thanksgiving.

It's a very generous thought to consider paying for your family members. I hope it all works out and you have a great trip.

In 2008 I lost my job and we had to cancel a family trip with my parents, myself, and my BF. In early 2009, my mother decided to go ahead and pay for a trip so we could all go :) That trip completely changed my life and I have offered but she will not let me repay her. She said just knowing that we had such a good time was payment enough for her. I love my Mom!

There are also ways you can show kindness to strangers in the parks. Last year a family asked me to take a picture of them in front of the castle. I took a few pictures and then I told them to "Have a magical day!". I'll never forget the look on their faces when they said it back. I love sharing in other peoples' fun :sohappy:

My lovely sister and wonderful brother-in-law paid for me to join them on a trip in 2008. It was a very special gift from them; one that I will never forget. I hope one day to repay the kindness to them!!

I don't have an children of my own. In my mid-twenties, I took my 2 godkids with me for 11 days. People are still amazed, but they behaved really well and it was a once in a lifetime opportunity for them. We stayed at the Beach Club and it was a great trip for them both.

My parents have frequently allowed us to stay at WDW on their DVC points. Once using them for a cruise. Very nice of them as lodging is the most expensive component of the trip.

We just purchased our first DVC points ourselves and hope to add on in the future such that we can bring friends and family members as well.

In 2000, my husband and I paid for my parents to join our children and ourselves for a trip over Thanksgiving week. They were surprised and thrilled and both my kids and my parents talk about the trip to this day. It was a wonderful time for both generations. I hope we can do it again in the near future.

Thank you everyone for your posts!!! I am so glad to know that there are other people out there that are thoughtful when it comes to allowing other family members the chance to experience what we have. WDW is a magical place and I am looking foward to seeing the looks on their faces seeing things for the first time!:)

Not old, just vintage.
A few years ago I paid for my best friend to go with me to WDW. It was an important trip for me. I just wanted to do things I had never done before in Disney. We stayed at the Poly, ate tons of TS meals, went on a fireworks cruise, played golf, etc. It was by far the most expensive trip I have ever taken but I knew it would be a long time before I would ever see that much money again. I would do it again in a heartbeat if I could.

The first time I took my DDs to WDW we included my mother-inlaw with us. That was actually the second time that I had been around her and we paid for everything since she was visiting us at the time we had planned our trip. It was also the first time that she had gone so she enjoyed it.
This Oct. will be my DMs 65th birthday and even though we had already had a trip planned for after Christmas, talked my Mom into going for her birthday present. This will be her first MNSSHP and hopefully not the last one.:)

Yes we have. Well let me say My Husband has,(I'm a stay at home mom). My Husband and I love disney so much that we want our famioloy to enjoy it as much as we do. Every year there seems to be someone that needs to experience Disney. This year we are bring my son's BFand my dad. Last year we brought my parents, sister, her husband, her 3 girls, my brothers 2 girls. 2008 we brought my husbands mother, step dad and 1 of my nieces . 2006 we brought my husbbands nephew. 2005 we brought agian my parents, sister, her husband, and 2 girls (the 3rd girl was this trip's Souvenir). I can go on and on, But to answer your question, Every trip has been a blast. Dont let the little things bother you, blow off those things you might not at home, and enclude, those who want to help plan.
We found going during FREE Dinning was a HUGE saving. Dont do the hopper, with large party sizes it takes longer to get thru the parks. Take lots of pictures and Pre-purchases the PhotoPass cd, another big savings. when you get home and look at all the pictures is when you will really appreciate the trip.

My daughter and I go to WDW twice a year and have so much fun and I always want to share it with others. So last year I talked my parents into going with us in October and my sister and I offset a lot of their costs. We paid for their 10 day park hoppers plus, Cirque du Soleil tickets, ECV for my dad for each park day, MNSSHP tickets, Behind the Seeds Tour, Carriage Ride at PORS, Character dinner at Chef Mickey's, Character in Flight tickets and $700 in gift cards to use for meals and whatever. I also booked them an anniversary dinner at California Grill to celebrate their 52nd anniversary (by themselves). We did so much stuff and visited a bunch of the resorts. They still have no idea how much we spent on them, but they never would have gone otherwise. And it is a trip I will never forget.

We have done it, don't put yourself in a BAD spot financially to do it though. That being said, you won't regret it, especailly if they have never been to the world, and you say you have not seen all of it yet- you will.... One of the best parts of WDW is sharing the experience with loved one's & friends:sohappy:

You will make memories that will last a lifetime, here's my 2 cents worth of advice- make at least 1 "sit down meal" reservation if you can afford it.
