Showing Kindness

We have taken many trips to WDW and I can count two trips when we went alone and did not treat a family member or one or more of our children's friends. WDW is meant to be shared, in our opinion.

In two very short weeks we are taking our DD and future son in law, all expenses on us, as a way to celebrate their recent engagement and our 29th wedding anniversary. There is a thread posted on the trip report forum where a mom posted about her 12 year old daughter not wanting to go this year. We ran up against that scenario many times and our solution was to invite our children's friends to go with us. Made for great memories for them and us, win win, in my opinion. Some trips were cut short when we invited friends, due to the added cost but we never minded because it was such a positve experience for us all. Lucky for us we never had one single issue with misbehaving kids while there or else I may not have thought of these trips with such fond memories!

We are a family of modest means, we just save and go. Our trips have been fewer and farther between lately but I realize now that these trips are so special now that our kids are grown and living far from us. I treasure every minute we share there with them! 16 more days!!!!

i take my daughter and son-in-law every year- and recently the adorable grandson they provided for me- and in march, the next grandson they're currently "growing" for me.
guess what? i don't think of it as a kindness on my part, i LOVE LOVE LOVE being able to take them, i get more out of it than they do i think. it is a real treat to have them there with me, what great memories, laughs, etc.
the giver usually gets more than the receiver- in all things.
