My tree is at least 1/2 Disney. Last year I did a blog post with pictures.
Here is a link.
Here's a few highlights:
Atop our tree is Tinkerbell. Some might think she is an angel since she is wearing all white and looking somewhat angelic. But if you imagine her in green, she is indeed Peter Pan’s sidekick. It’s hard to tell from the pictures, but Tink’s wings light up. The lights are fiber optics and they change color.
Pluto is one of our favorite characters to visit at Walt Disney World. He is frequently included at character meals. And since we frequent character meals, we see a lot of Mickey’s pal on our trips.
This is the second of three Tinkerbells on our tree. Both the girls have been Tinkerbell for Halloween in the past. And I think they have both liked her to some degree (although my wife has an irrational hatred of Tink, Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh – don’t ask).
This is an Aurora ornament I picked up a couple years ago for cheap. Josie briefly picked Aurora (or “Sleeping Booty” as Kara calls her) as her favorite princess because she is blonde and wears pink. I think those two attributes summarize the appeal of Sleeping Beauty to most girls.
Josie picked out this slipper ornament at the Disney Store one year. Like the Tinkerbell on top of the tree, Cinderella’s slipper lights up. But you can’t really make it out in the picture.
Much like Pluto, Chip and Dale are Disney World favorites. On Josie’s first visit, we saw Chip and Dale at Toontown. They started waving at her and blowing kisses while we were still in line. When she started blowing kisses back at them, the chipmunks started fighting over who the kisses were for. All of this was going on before our time with Chip and Dale had even started.
And here’s the third Tinkerbell. I think I’m out of things to say about Disney’s iconic fairy.
On our 2010, Disney World trip, Josie fell in love with Jessie from Toy Story. Jessie was a much better fit for Josie than the princesses. Joey found princess dresses itchy and refused to wear them. But she dressed as Jessie for Halloween and carried around a Jessie doll for the better part of a year – which is a very long time for my fickle, toy-obsessed daughter.
This is a nifty princess ornament. You can turn the base to change what princess is displayed. Since Sleeping Booty is Kara’s favorite, she is currently on display. But you can also view Snow White and…
Cinderella. Since the mice are on the ornament no matter which princess is displayed, I always thought the ornament made the most sense when Cinderella was in the window.
And our tour concludes with this souvenir from our Walt Disney World honeymoon.
