Should We Go in August of September??

My Finacee and I are planning our trip to Disney world with the free dinning. I want to book it this week as I know it will book up really fast. Since I am finally finished with college our dates are very flexiable. I was wondering when we should go. Last year we were there during the Hurricane :( at the end of August in 2008. This is why I am not sure if we should wait to go in September? However, after research some websites say that September is the peak hurricane month. I have been to Disney in August a few other times and never had a problem. I am so confused  and I don't want to make the wrong discussion. I know we can't perdict the future, but I just was hoping I could get some advice?? :sohappy:

P.S. I forgot to mention We are planning on going to Disney in December as well! That is why we were thinking more August. AHHHH lol

thats a toughie.... You may want to try in September again... maybe toward the end of the month. You'll still have some good warm weather... maybe no hurricanes (?). But definitely checkout prices... maybe that will help you make up your mind too. See which would fit better: free dining in September or buy 4/get3 deal in August.
I dont know if I was much help... :p

For the past three years we have gone in September. We were lucky enough to not run into any bad weather. The crowds in September were great. It was unusual to have more than a 10 minute wait for the attractions we went on. I am sure they are in August once school starts, too. If you go during free dining, just be sure to make your reservations once your 90 days hits.

September defenetly ! All of the US schools will already be back in class and the european school start early september so less crowds and the weather mellows out a bit  .

Concerning hurricanes there is always a chance august or september , wouldn't let it effect my trip it's just nature things happen everyhwere weither it's hurricanes , storms , tornadoes , tsunamis it's just a risk we have to take ...

Hope this helps !

Go with September... much smaller crowds.

Plus August and September may have a equally good chance of feeling effects from a hurricane in the area. So I would just take the lower crowds and slightly better daytime temps of the September month.

We have been in Aug - no very bad weather just the normal afternoon storms. But - if I had a choice I would choose Sept. for the crowds and
improving temps. Aug. is very hot! The only time we had bad weather,
a hurricane passing near by was in JUNE of 06. Go figure!:ROFLOL:

Have Fun!!!

I have been for the last four years during the last or second last week of September and other that having one arriving flight delayed as it was supposed to be routed through Houston (which was shut down) and we had to wait for an alternate flight into Chicago and then carry onto Orlando the trips where great. We did get soaked a couple of times due to thunder storms but you get those in August as well.
I would say book for September once the kids are back in school as the crowds are much lighter.
Have a Great Trip

The crowds are lighter in Sept and it is a lil bit cooler. The best part about going in Sept for me is seeing the park decked out for the fall and MNSSHP. I try not to think about the hurricanes, i usually worry more about rain because there is a better chance of that happening.

September would be my choice. The weather tends to be a bit more bearable, no Brazilian tour groups, MNSSHP, free dining, lighter crowds and if you go the last weekend in September you can catch the beginning of food and wine at Epcot.

Plus I'll be there that weekend which should seal the deal.

Drop me a line and I can get you some prices and get you all booked up.

Definetly September. For the Crowds.

Hurricanes have really settled down and although September is the "peak", your chances are statistically the same in August.

I vote for September since that's when I'm going! We're booked from Sept. 21st-Oct. 2nd at All-Star Sports.

Oh wait....maybe I should tell you August so there won't be as many people when I'm there! Haha!

Re:

September is a great month to visit WDW, with less worry of the weather and less crowds! Heck, my mother will be going there on her birthday that month and we'll have a blast!

It can be maddening trying to plan when you know it is hurricane season. I'm in insurance on the coast and we get a lot of visiters who have a false sense of relief "we survived hurricane season" when they come to town in September but you can get some seriously nasty storms - sometimes some for the worst. My recommendation - and i'm not a supporter of vacation insurance, even though i'm in the business - is get the insurance through Disney so that if there is a hurricaine, you don't loose anything. My DH and I only buy it during hurricane season b/c it is so unpredictible. I would go more for crowd levels - September is one of the best times to go crowd wise.

I'm with Master Yoda on this one. We love September because of the lack of crowds (especially at EPCOT), the free dining, the Halloween decorations/MNNSHP and a few days of the Food and Wine Festival! We've been there probably 6 times in September and never had more than the usual amount of rain, no real bad weather.
