Should there be more walk-through-attractions? HM was originally planned as a walkthrough and although I love the HM and it's one of my favorite rides I find the idea of a haunted house where you have to WALK through even more chilling because walking feels even more real than going by omnimover or boat, keeps you more in touch with the imagineered environment. The PotC were also planned as a walk-through attraction before they became a boat ride. Walk-throughs are very rare in the parks and also not exactly the superheadliners among the attractions (SFTH e.g.) but I believe with the right theming and imagineering they could be a nice addition to the rides and shows.
At least a mixture of ride and walk-through could be an interesting design approach. Imagine a haunted house where you have to walk at least 30 or 40% of the attraction before you board some ride vehicle?
The next-gen queues are already a step towards this development and the two wildlife trails in DAKs Africa and Asia.
I will place my idea for a pure walk-trough attraction and a mixture of walk and ride in the imagineer section as soon as possible and would like to know how you think about the topic.
