Should I be angry?

I booked my trip three weeks ago. We are staying at WL Concierge to celebrate DW's birthday. I have yet to receive any written confirmation from CRO. I called a week ago, and they could not understand the mixup, only to speculate that all the hurricanes may have affected the mail. The agreed to resend my confirmation, which I still have not received. Also, apparently I was supposed to have been contacted by the itinerary planner to help with my trip, since we are on Concierge Floor. Is that true? I have heard from nobody, and we leave in two days. They have my reservation in the system, but I always like to travel with a hard copy just in case. I am fuming that Disney has dropped the ball like this! Any input on who to complain to?

Thanks!

Considering how there are about 50-100 people (per All-Star theme) that have either just cancelled or rebooked there reservations per day since Charley hit, I'd give them a break.

You're in the system? They know you are coming? I'd say with all that was going on the past few weeks, give them a break. I travel with all my info too, but you just may not get it in time.

Go, have fun & enjoy.

ps, get the DW something nice for her birthday. :D

407-824-3200 is the phone number for the lodge directly.

Try calling them. Since you leave in two days, they will have your reservation in the system and should be able to put you in contact with the Concierge people to plan your stay, even at the last minute.

I just got my confirmation papers. I booked 6 months agao, and just paid for it 4-5 weeks ago. And this has been pretty much the norm for me the last 4 years. If you book and get your confirmation in three weeks or less, you're gettin faster service than I've ever gotten.

Plus we do concierge, and I always call them first. If I wait on thier time tables for them to call me, I may miss a PS time or something. I like getting them in as soon as possiable.

I'd say because of the hurricanes, and the fact you only booked three weeks ago is why you haven't seen much yet. But like others have said, give 'em a call.

Have fun!

I booked more like 7 weeks ago, used Visa, and still haven't gotten hard copy. I called to ask this week, and if it doesn't come by Monday, I'll politely check again. Like you, I show in the system when calling, but can't access the information on-line. the reservation numbers and dates come up, but nothing else. I'm not terrible worried about it. As long as they show me in the system and I have my statement showing what I've paid, I think it will be fine. They have been understandably busy lately.

Relax and enjoy. The birthday celebration is what its really all about anyway, right ?

When I stayed concierge, I was never contacted beforehand. I didn't need anything, so I wasn't concerned. This was last year, at a slow time (which is why I was able to upgrade :animwink: ) and with no weather problems.

If I REALLY wanted them to do something, I would have called.

As Turkey stated, you might want to cut them some slack! For all you know, they've been without power, or have damage to their homes, but still have to come in to work and create "magic."

I made a reservation on Aug 26th and I just received confirmation this week,

I figured it was due to lack of staff and mail ( i'm sure the postal workers are slower than usual with the mail)

If you reservation is ion the system, i wouldnt worry. Whether you get the conformation or not, once your in the system, youre good to go.

(As for concierge, during francis someone at the WL was complaining about the lack of hot food and snacks - apparently this is complimentary on that level- out for the folks. Of course there was a hurricane right outside....)

I got called the first year we used concierge, that was 3 years ago. For the last two years though, I've called them months in advance to lay out our itiniary. So they've never got the chance to initiate the first call with me. I beat them to the punch. :p

All of the times we stayed Conc. We recieved a letter in the mail about 100 days out. Telling me I can call them at anytime. Maybe your reservation was made too late to be on the contact list in an automated system??? (Just a guess??) All of the letters I recieved from two different resorts were form letters. Did you write down your conformation #?? That should work just as well if there is a problem.

and when you call the Concierge people see if they can print out a hard copy of your ressie and fax it to you!! Belle

My thought exactly. We ran into the same thing when we went for two weeks in 2003 and like you, I don't rely on their computers, and I demand a hard copy. Have them fax you the information.

I echo what most have said, and add a "Don't be angry" -- the systems (people, computers, etc) have been very stressed by all that's been happening. So, call or do what you must to feel better, but be happy and understanding of what the CM's have been through. Plus, nothing ruins the first part of a vacation more than arriving mad. Think happy thoughts -- you're going to Disney World!

I'd say you're still good to go, man. Having the hard copy makes you more comfortable, but it certainly isn't necessariy.

Heck...how's this for something to be angry about:

I have three separate reservations for my 16 night stay, and the final ressie still needed a deposit. So I called and made the deposit 5 days in advance of when they needed it. A week later I got my conformation in the mail, and it was for a different ressie that I had already made a deposit on. As it turns out, even though I gave this guy the exact reservation number to apply the deposit to, he put it on the wrong one.

So, I called back, and they had CANCELLED the last seven nights of my trip!

So, like I said, how's THAT for something to be angry about?! lol

I have problems getting confirmations from Disney also. They will fax pkg confirmations over, but they mail the room only ones. Sometimes it takes 2 weeks to recieve the confirmation from them and then we have to turn around and send it out to our clients. This is why I always e-mail a standard confirmation form to all of my clients who provide an e-mail address. I would definately call the resort. I would also ask to be put through to the concierge desk so that you can handle and priority seatings, etc. while you have them on the line.

Ha, well, it actually didn't have anything to do with who was on the phone with them. I even confirmed what reservation it was after he said he it was taken care of. It was just a huge goof on his part, plain and simple.

They agreed that he screwed up bigtime, and reinstated our old reservation, so all is well again. It was just an inconvenience to have to call back and spend a half hour fixing the problem.
