Oh, how fun! I was the Narrator in a production of that! Good show. Enjoy it, Joanna!

That's awsome! The Narrator looked like a fun role! And it was a great show!

Bye Jo! Enjoy!!!

Ooooh! You'll love it....it's sooo good!!

I did, thanks! I loved it!

Whoot! Whoot! Got a letter home from school - based on Em's CogNat scores and classroom observation they want to test her for the gifted program!!!!!

What is Steph having...thought I glimpsed blue m&m's in the avvy?

That's great Amy! Good for her!

She is having a boy!:sohappy:

My sister, who completely hates public speaking but loves musical theater, plays/sings as Rapunzel in her college production next month... I'm so darn proud of her. :D

Wow, that's great!

:lookaroun

Hey Betty

Hey Jo - thanks! And thanks for the Steph boy child confirm.

You know one of the reasons I love you Jo? You always have a kind word for everybody. You're a good egg.

So...you loved the show? You are the most into-musicals person I know!

Aww, thanks Amy! :o

Oh yeah, I loved it! I have always been a theater person (my first musical was Cats in 4th grade, and my first play was doing the Nutcracker in 3rd grade).

YW, sweetie.

I didn't think I liked musicals until I reflected back and realized I love stuff like Sound of Music, Mary Poppins, etc. My first live musical was Beehive...that was fun. And then when I saw Les Mis the first time...oy, I saw it four times after that! And even the modern-y stuff (eg HSM) gets me...

Em had a friend over the other night and I was singing to the baby a lot and I hear from the other room:

"I guess your mom likes to sing"

I could practically hear Em's eyes rolling in her head, LOL.

Grant's quote of the evening: "Well, you ain't exactly Aretha Franklin, baby"

My mom loved Les Mis too! It was her favorite show. I hope to see the Disney shows this summer (especially Lion King).

Aww!!:ROFLOL::ROFLOL: I'm sure your singing is fine (better then me, anyway. I save my singing for the car, since I can't trust that people won't hear me from the shower:o).

Oh, I almost forgot. That video you posted of Jack the other day was so cute!!!

Your mother clearly has excellent taste.

I dunno how I feel about seeing the Disney shows...obviously I am predisposed to like them, but I am such a purist...and the Broadway versions always have "extra" stuff in them, which I am sure I would love if I gave them a chance. You're lucky to be so close to NYC, for me it is a long train ride, etc.

And you ought to just sing wherever! Who cares what it sounds like? Singing = happy, and besides, you have it in your heart to be an entertainer, so let loose girl!

Thanks, the Wee Jack is pretty cute...he's a happy little soul! I rather heart him.

Yeah, it's nice to be close. Now I just need to save up money to see the shows (my goal is to see all 3 this summer before I move down, and I wouldn't say no to seeing Wicked and/or Shrek again too).

He definitely is! I watch the video, and I just want to give him a big cuddle. :o

Gloria is seriously the goodest girl ever...I had to run outside for a minute and when I came back she was just standing in the front door because she knows she oughn't to come out without a "C'mon girl!". Man, we are lucky with that dog.

I'd love for him to meet you...in fact, I picture us all in Disney where I go : "Jack, meet Jo. Jo, Jack. Now y'all have fun while mummy runs off to Epcot for the day." ;)

I hear Wicked the Musical is amazing, but I just can't get past the book. The book was seriously disturbing and dark. I can't imagine someone reading it and saying "Hey! This would make a great musical!"

Hey, I'm all for taking the baby for the day. :lookaroun

The funny thing is, I never read the book (I still haven't, actually). But I didn't have any trouble following along with the musical. It was sooo good.

LOL, Lord, girl, you've had enough babies on your hands all your life!

Don't read the book. I hear it hasn't a lot to do with the musical anyway, and it really is a depressing book. In fact most of the people I know that have seen the musical haven't read the book...there is probably a reason for this.

The musical is almost a polar opposite to the book. A lot of stuff was left out and changed.

The thing with musicals for me is not just the music and the story, but the staging. Which is why I want to see TLK so badly. The added songs are incredible, but also, I'm intrigued about the way they stage everything. I've heard the wildebeest stampede is incredible.

Oddly enough, the part I left out of my reply was "But I bet Luke has done both."

What are you, freakin' psychic?

Aaaaaactually, I haven't seen the show, unfortunately. But I've heard enough about it and listened to the soundtrack enough

And to answer your question, yes.

Oh, I reckon you'll get around to it! :)

You are an odd duck(meant in a genuinely admiring way). Don't you ever do normal horrible college boy age stuff?

I love staging too. I guess that has something to do with why I did Stage Crew for 2 of the 4 musicals.

How long will you be working at the World? We are eyeballing a November trip.

And how come we haven't organized a Magic Friends trip?

My CP is due to go to Jan 2, and I plan on extending it.

I am all for that!!:sohappy:

Awesome! If we do go, I will def. get in touch with you prior...Em would flip to meet you, I think I already mentioned how she was mad we didn't hook up last trip..

We should do a Magic Friends trip. It would be difficult to arrange, given varying lifestyles and economic circumstances (mine, not so good! but a Disney trip would sure cheer me up!). I bet if we put Dana in charge she could make it happen.
