Shake up in imagineering=alot of new rides?

Sounds brill, thanks for sharing.

Excuse my ignorance but what are C, D or E tickets?

'tickets' refer to when Disneyland first opened and you had to use a ticket to get onto each attraction.

E tickets were the most rare in the ticket book, and used for the 'best' rides. Thats why nowadays a ride like Splash Mountain would be classified as an E-Ticket. Something like ... Buzz Lightyear would be a D-Ticket, and SGE would be a C-Ticket.

Could one of the C or D tickets at MGM (and yes I will still call it that) be the long rumored Nightmare Before Christmas ride?

Anything more specific about what MK's E ticket would be? I hope it involves original ideas or is a remake of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride (It would be cheap to build, perfect for the Eisner Era WDI folks).

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride will never return to Florida. There is no demand and no return. The only people who want it to return are people like us who visit regardless, and Mr. Toad is certainly not an E-Ticket by any stretch of the imagination.

When discussing an Indy ride at MGM, people here always say it won't happen because the ride structure is too similar to Dinosaur's. I must say, this isn't Six Flags, folks, this is WDW, and theming is key. Similar rides with totally different theming aren't going to be picked up on by most visitors. I don't think the existence of Dinosaur in a different park is going to affect Indy coming to MGM.

About the water park...is it really supposed to be Pirates-themed? I know Pirates is popular right now, but will it be popular enough to draw crowds 15 years from now?

Though I'm beginning to roll my eyes at Disney's current pirate obsession, one thing you can't say is that those buccaneers don't have staying power--don't forget the timeless original attraction, which hasn't staled in its four decades of existence! This whole "pirate" fling Disney is on, though obviously a tie-in with the movies, is admittedly one of the best themes they can invest in...to go on a pirate adventure will always be one of those universal storybook fantasies that doesn't just belong to one franchise. And seeing that Disney has been the purveyor of that fantasy for generation after generation ("Peter Pan", "Treasure Island", "Pirates of the Caribbean"...), I have to say I still get excited when they talk about doing any sort of pirate overlay in the parks. It's definitely appropriate for Disney and I look forward to seeing what else they can come up with.

ETA: Haha, I just saw how crazy and gleeful I sound in my first post. I don't trust Disney enough to believe all of this, but man does it feel good to read such a long list of rumored projects...it brightens my day, even if every word is untrue... :lookaroun

I certainly am glad that there are at least some changes to Imagineering these days. But from my understanding, it's parks management that decides what attractions get built, where, and when. Imagineering comes up with some great ideas, sometimes they push through some of their own, sometimes they respond to what park management wants to put in. But just because Imagineering has changed, don't expect a flood of new rides to be popping up all over the place.

I hate to say it, but I share your cynical view. This almost sounds like someone feeding us exactly what we want to hear, versus what's really being planned. It would be nice if Corrus or Lee chimed in here.

Interesting. I'll believe it all when I see it all.

I absolutely HATE the idea of MGM turning into Disney-Pixar. I'll never call it Pixar. It will always be MGM to me.

They should just call it Disney Studios Park and be done with it. Less confusing and it wouldn't be that hard of a stretch for folks.

One thing I do tend to buy is a fifth gate. We all know there will be one eventually, but at least it's a good what, possibly 10 years away? Wonder what they could base a new park on? I hope it's something like DisneySea, in all honesty.

And as for Beastly Kingdom. Seriously. I don't get the appeal of it and why everyone on here loves it so much. I'd rather see an Arctic section or a water section added to Animal Kingdom.

And sheesh, the wand isn't that bad ... it's a tad tacky when you really look at it, but overall, it's not THAT bad and it draws attention.

Well, the 'readers' WILL go down after the 7th book, considering its the last one.
I don't really see it as a 'problem'. The people wanting to see the Potter land will need somewhere to stay, and most likely they will stay at WDW. If its only one new attraction, it will be difficult to keep people in the park very long for that.

Interesting. I'll believe it all when I see it all.

Remember that these are 'blue sky' ideas only. Meaning 'hey, these are some ideas we've had'.

No reason not to throw the co-brand in. People can call it Disney Studios, MGM, Pixar, whatever. It would all be the same place. But calling it Disney-Pixar can lead to people going 'Hey I saw all those Pixar movies, lets go to see that new Pixar park'.

Eventually one will happen. 10 years is probably about right. 8-10. DisneySea would be great, its what I would love to see as well.

And as for Beastly Kingdom. Seriously. I don't get the appeal of it and why everyone on here loves it so much. I'd rather see an Arctic section or a water section added to Animal Kingdom.

BK won't happen in its original form. A different, improved form I can see.
A water area at DAK would be interesting, because they'd have to do some very interesting things to make it different from SeaWorld.

And sheesh, the wand isn't that bad ... it's a tad tacky when you really look at it, but overall, it's not THAT bad and it draws attention.

And thats why it will never come down.

Maybe another reason all the recent expansion and revamping is occurring is the bounce back after the tourism crash.

The harry potter land may not be at Disney but in a 7 day vacation, universal is a two day park.

I could definitely see a dragon attraction in Animal Kingdom's future--and that was always the coolest part of BK. A dragon remains on the DAK logo, so I would never discount that possibility. It has to be quite a bit different from Dueling Dragons (or whatever it is renamed as in 2009), which is why BK won't happen in its original form. Narnia has dragons, though...and would make a reasonable response to Harry Potter.

Oh, thats for sure the reason. Remember that you have a lot of projects from 2001 to today that couldn't get the greenlight because of the tourism downswing. Now some of them will.

You can easily do all of both parks in one day, as well.
