I MagicMaya wants the ride Stitch's greatest escape to close now!

Anyone else wanna sign?
If we get enough people to complain, they will close it down just like when we complained about Super Stupid Celebration

Now who's with me?!?!?!

I'm willing to sign but I must warn you, these petitions don't work. Besides, there are rumours saying that it will leave in the near future.

The problem with a petiton for Disney to close it is bad because:

1) It won't work, because unless Disney has a plan to replace it, they won't.
2) If they decided to close it, all of those guests (ok, not that many, it always has a 5 min. wait) would be in line for other attractions instead.
3) It would give some of us here one less thing to complain about :p

It's going to be a little while before SGE closes because Tomorrowland needs to have anything open right now with Space and the TTA down. Supersonic Celebration must have been deemed worse than SGE (I don't think it was) because they actually closed that down with the state Tomorrowland is in.

But you would think that the attraction is over half way past its run. Surely the end will come sooner than later.

Take it from someone that tried once to start a movement to influence Disney to make a certain decision, let me warn you that you'll probably not get the results you seek.

Stitch's Great Escape actually does well with the guests, pulling in plenty of people and satisfying the expectations set for it in the park. The ride, while not as popular as some of the other attractions in the park still does well enough to justify its continued operation (at least for now).

Mind you, there are whispers about an eventual replacement, but that won't likely come soon... There are too many other things going on in Tomorrowland that have to come first.

I highly doubt that the wait times the attraction is getting is "satisfying the expectations set for it in the park". If it really is meeting expectations, then it must have had the lowest expectations of any new attraction of the decade. Is the attraction more popular than it gets credit for online? Well I would certainly think so, but let's not put this attraction as a success. The only way this could be considered a success is if the main reason the attraction was created was to sell merchandise. And if that's the case, that's a really screwed up way to create attractions. There is nothing wrong with selling merchandise in the parks, but it shouldn't be the reason for an attraction to be there.

There are too many other things going on in Tomorrowland that have to come first.

And those things are being done now. After that, I couldn't imagine anything being more important than fixing the two Stitch attractions in the land.

Agreed, but it's not so much about closing it and leaving it abandoned, but letting Disney know that we don't like it so that they can begin figuring out what will replace it.

Not that they don't already know. . . but I'd still sign the petition

Why would they close it down. I mean little kids love it. I bet it won't close for a little bit.

That's the thing about it, it's an attraction that scares many kids, but it is being aimed at them. I'm sure the attraction is more popular among kids than it is adults, but you still hear stories of plenty of kids exiting with tears. I feel that the friendly aspect of Stitch being ignored at the parks is a huge mistake Disney has made with the character. You can't use Alien Encounter's infrastructure and make a Stitch attraction that is a kid friendly as it should be.

Most of the time when people start petitions, they know what they are petitioning for won't change, but they want their voice to be heard. I know that Disney isn't checking petitiononline.com, etc, daily for complaints or whatnot, but it certainly can't hurt to let them know that many of us don't like the attraction at all. Like I said in the above post, I think they already know that. But it can't hurt.

But I agree, a petition would probably do nothing. But for the 10 seconds it takes to complete, it's "worth" having your voice heard

I'm pretty positive the Disney Community has already made it 100% clear on it's feelings of Stitch's Great Escape. I'm pretty sure a petition will only make them think a little less of us. The way I see it, Disney knows exactly what they need to do with the company to make it run more smoothly. It's their company, they are in charge, they know what they're doing. I'm sure a replacement will come sometime in the future.

Has anyone actually SEEN the show in person? I shivered at the idea, and even disliked the first video I saw, but once I saw it in person, it grew on me! Never judge a show by it's videos!

Doesn't mean it shouldn't be done. It's their decision what they do with the information that they get because as you say, it's their company. But I do not agree that starting a petition would make them think less of us. We have displeasure, and we'd be doing a disservice to their need for customer feedback by not telling of this displeasure.

Yes, I know the quick and easy comeback to what I just said is "they already know we don't like it." I agree. I just don't think that that should stop it from being reiterated.

If kids come off that ride crying then what if they went on Alien Encounter. I mean so many people want them to bring back Alien Encounter when what you just said is happening. SGE is nothing compared to AE so of course they are most likely not going to bring AE. So we should stop trying to get rid of SGE because there is a good possibility it won't happen.

O and sorry for my critisism but please don't throw it back at me. I mean it is a sort of free place to post things on this site. So yah.

If you don't like an attraction such as Stitch's Great Escape. Then do not go in it. I just do not get all of the hate towards this attraction. I am not a fan of some attractions. Does that mean I want Disney to remove them, no it does not I just avoid those attractions.

sorry guys but i'm not for signing, yes SGE it isn't the greatest attraction in the world, but it is by far not the worst , plus is great for getting the all important 'air conditioning break' from the heat when it is busy, something that is unusual in MK. I think that sounds dangerous at DHS, JITI at EPCOT and the indy speedway in Tomorrowland are def more in need of removing or reimagineering, and the money is also more better used to put something in the pavilion between Ellen and mission (where body wars used to be) which has sadly been off limits to guests for a number of years.

SGE was (or at least should have been considering the character) designed as a family/kids attraction. Alien Encounter was not. There's your difference.

And there is a 100% chance of SGE being replaced. It isn't going to be a MK classic that is around forever. I don't see why anyone would think it is an attraction that is still going to be around 20 years from now.

Hate comes in when you go to WDW for your yearly visit and you spend a day and a half of your nine day trip at the Magic Kingdom because of multiple changes that you just avoid. I fully realize that not everything is going to be built for me and that's fine. But when you keep going back year after year and there is less and less for you to do, it can become very frustrating.

I know that Space and the TTA were closed, but I spent less than an hour in Tomorrowland this trip. Enough time to see the COP and I caught Buzz because it had a 10 minute wait. 10 years ago I would spend hours upon hours in Tomorrowland.

They do not have to go back to 1994-1995 style attractions to be successful in my eyes. I'm not demanding they bring back AE or Timekeeper by any means. But it would be nice if quality attractions were brought back to the land and made spending time there more enjoyable.

Also let me say that I'm no stranger to being a fan of an unpopular attraction. I actually enjoyed Journey Into Your Imagination and Symbiosis, but at the same time, I could see that changes needed to be made.

Adam, I usually know your info is good, but I gotta question this one. I've been told by many, many people from Guest Relations to Management that SGE is the most complained about attraction in the MK.
