Ok so just about everyone hates this ride and wants it gone. Would it be possible to convert the exhisting AA (which is amazing) to be used else where like the Tikiroom or in another park?

Wouldn't they just need to give the AA a new shell and reprogram its movements? We've seen them relocate AAs before (America Sings, Spash) and reuse some AAs for multiple attractions. Shouldn't be that big of a deal...
Yea Im not good with stuff like that, but I was thinking the same thing :shrug:
Good I want the ride to die a slow and painful death but it would be a shame to waist such an impresive AA.

This has been discussed quite a bit here. Tokyo did a remake of their Tiki room and included Stitch into it... By some reports, the same AA as in SGE (without the spitting thank goodness). It's fairly well done... He plays the ukelele and sings some tunes with the birds. He's not the annoying stitch from SGE.
The talk was that they would change WDW's tiki room to the same show or something similar, and move the AA over from SGE.
It's been a while since the topic has come up... A year or so... So I have no idea what the latest is on it.

ok i just watched the video of the tiki room in tokyo.... and i can i say i enjoy it much more than both our current tiki room and SGE.....
at least in their tiki room the birds still sing the full songs.... and stitch makes an appearance at the end... and even sings a song that isn't all that bad. but our current tiki room lets me down every time (makes me wanna cry) and SGE makes me wanna heave... i just think they need some serious revamping NOW!

I was at TDL the week before the new tiki room opened. I was QUITE upset.
But I agree... By all accounts, it looks like an enjoyable show. I could even handle if they wanted to do a movie tie-in song and did "Hawaiian Roller Coaster". Could be cute.
Again, this seems like one of those fairly inexpensive changes they could make that would make a lot of their loyal fanbase happy. Little changes like this is the kind of thing that keeps people excited and coming back for more.
And I wouldn't buy the argument that if they did that, they'd be shuttering one attraction (SGE) therefore lowering capacity in the park. Because let's be honest... Tiki and SGE are very very rarely full. If done right, this tweak could mean the tiki room birds play to a full house much more often.
