I just think that after a while people are going to figure out there is nothing significant about Disney celebrations anymore. It's sad. I think it's time they back up there celebrations with some substance...like new attractions. :p

Reminds me of the announcement several years ago of the creation of "Grand Gatherings" with a Web site for everyone to plan their trip, and special deserts and other things, all for a price, of course. Again, just a marketing approach. Nothing that is going to cause us to get excited. (I almost forgot the banners :))

And many of you thought YOMD was dull.

I'm quite sure they will come up with something more apropriate for the 40th in 2011. Until then, not so much.

What about space mountain refurb and the monsters inc coaster? Are these not happening? What about the 40th anniversary? :veryconfu

Whats the need for a 40th. celebration and new rides? People are gonna come to WDW anyway so theres no need to build anything.

From someone who loathes the "Occupation of a Million Dreams", I don't think this deal is that bad.

I just hope the decorations aren't ugly.

Lets just say there's people who never had money to get in the park ..Happy Birthday come on in for free !!!
I never really considered this point, now a family that maybe couldn't have afforded to visit the park before, might be able to. Most of us who have been to WDW before (ie everyone on this site) don't realise how $75 could make or break the bank.

Wow, some of you people are amazing. I can't believe that you would actually whine about not getting anything better than the new theme for next year.

I'm sure every time you went to the parks last year and didn't get a dream prize you whined about that too.

Life is so hard for you. Come on people, it's WDW, have fun and get over it!

I thought that whining was the point of these forums? :D

Anyway, I've got an opinion (call it whining if you want to) and my opinion is that this campaign wasn't thought out well. It's more of a campaign for locals. It should be a big hit in DL and Orlando. It's not going over well here in Kentucky.

Wow. All this negativity over something for free. And I am sure if Disney hadn't announced anything people would complain that Disney isn't doing anything for us. WHAA... Disney does not have to do anything, but they are. I am stoked about getting $75.00 to spend on my birthday. Heck I am happy with the free button they give ya.

Again, it's going over well with those who can actually make it there on their birthday. But you're right. It's something free. At least some get to enjoy it. **end of whining**

If $75 dollars is the difference between being able to take a Disney vacation or not, your financial priorities are askew. I can't understand spending thousands of dollars for a vacation and having $75 make or break your bank. If that is the case, put off the vacation for a while until you can REALLY afford to go. A vacation is not worth putting your family in financial distress. Disney will still be there next year and the year after that....

Theme park socialism? Nobody is allowed to have some fun or get something for free since everyone won't get it? :lookaroun
:brick: Geez! One more time for those a little slow on the uptake...at least with other campaigns everyone had a chance to participate.

Anyway, it's a minor thing. Guess what? I'll still be going even though I won't get the gift.
