Sept. or Oct.

Which would make for a better vacation? We'll be in the parks probably only two days out of a 6-day vacation. At first, we were thinking September so that we could take in a baseball game or two while we're out there. Though, I heard that quite a lot of rides may be closed in the Disney parks that month. Plus, I've never been to any Disney park to see the Halloween decorations. (Do they have a Halloween party that you have to pay extra for, like WDW?)

Main things we REALLY hope to see and do while there: MSEP!!!, PotC, Indy, SpaceM, Fantasyland rides that are different in DL.

What are your thoughts?

PotC, Indy, and Space are not planning on going down any time soon...that we know of. The only things that I know will be down are IASW and HM (if you go in Sept).

If you want to see the HM NBC overlay and Halloween decorations, then pick October. But if you want to go to some baseball games more, then September. The only thing about October is that there are more crowds because of the Halloween decorations.

My pick would be October to experience Halloween at the parks. Even though it might be a bit more crowded, you'll have a better chance of seeing all the rides, attractions, etc. The weather should also be nice. :)

Oh, and no big party like WDW. But there's Mickey's Halloween Treat in DCA. I've never been, so I don't know much about it.

And about MSEP, I cannot figure out the schedule for it! I'll keep looking.

I'd say Oct too, because of the HalloweenTime is in full swing and from all the pics everyone has been posting the decorations on Main Street are really nice, although it stops at Main Street and then again to Thunder Ranch. Also in Sept, the Mickey floral might be behind walls from the Halloween Mickey as well as a few other refurbs/

Okay, well October does seem enticing now. Though, if I find out that MSEP will be shown in Sept. and not Oct. that may be a deal breaker...

I was so bummed in December when I found out that the MSEP was not shown until the week after we left.

I hope they are showing it when you are there. :)

Definite vote for October. DL/DCA do much more autumn/halloween decorating that WDW (I'll try to remember to post some pictures later). Getting to see HM/NBC is something you wouldn't want to miss.

Halloween Treat is very similar to MNSSHP. Cost is lower (I think around $30) and being at DCA, it doesn't impact DL activities.

Edit: Also note that Fantasmic and Fireworks are not every night, so you will need to check the calendar if those are events you have on the must do list.

I like both Sept & Oct. It was a lot warmer, shall I say very hot & humid, in Sept than in Oct and there were no crowds. The longest wait was 10 minutes on most of the rides. Having said that we are booking for Oct 09, due to school & the kids. Either way, you will have a great time!
