Trip Report Semi-live, Visiting w/ a Brazilian Tour Group of Cheerleaders celebrating Jersey Spring Break

Ok, hopefully the title of this report got your attention. Technically none of it is accurate. It was just shameless Disney TR click bait. But since you're here, you might as well follow along. Plus, I have embedded a computer code so if you try and leave it will instantly direct you to a non stop loop of the JG Wentworth theme song which will play in the background whenever your computer is on. If you leave, I hope you have a structured settlement but you need cash now.

Ok then, For those of you still here, allow me to present the details of this PTR.

Who: My wife and I

ck.jpg

Where: AKL

When: July

Why?: Basically, I want my wife to win the Tuvalu 500 (which is the race for most visits to WDW in 2018). @blgauger , you are excluded from this competition since you live like 2 minutes away from WDW and plus, you need to focus on riding BTMRR as many times as possible!! My wife has some stiff competition between @Tuvalu , @TrolleyFollower91 , @sheriffwoody , @lostpro9het , @imahistorygeek and several others. We are almost half way through 2018 and its a close race!

I encourage anybody reading this report to please post how many visits you have so far this year. Even if its just one or two, feel free to compete. And FYI, this a friendly competition and there is really no win or loose. But lets face it, we are all losers here, considering we spend so much time on an unofficial fan forum of WDW:D:cool::cool:. But we are the COOLEST losers ever!!!

Aside from it being my wifes 5th trip this year, I am very much looking forward to returning to AKL. Even though I stayed there last summer for a few nights with my family, its been a few years since C and I have stayed there together. And now that we are official DVC Members, I constantly check availability and the other day I saw a few days open at AKL (Jambo) so I snagged it. It just so happened to be the morning that C and her mom were heading home from their recent Disney trip (this past Friday), so when I called to let her know, it definitely perked her up. She is not a fan of the Fla humidity in Summer but she is willing to deal with it for me. We will just try and avoid the extreme heat in the afternoons. No ADR's planned yet but Ill keep this updated as we get closer.

Have a great day everybody!

There is currently a stunning view of the Savana with rays of sunshine bursting through the clouds... unfortunately every picture I take is backlit and I do not have the camera equipment nor skill level to capture said stunningness. Where is @fractal or @sheriffwoody when you need em?!!!

So i offer a photo of my beer from angle that allows for it to not be covered by shadow. And FWIW to any of the beer snobs here (you know who you are), this is not a good beer, IMO. Especially not for the price. 3 Daughters Bimini Twist IPA. Extremely heavy on whatever overly intense flavor I get from it. and the can says "hint of citrus" but it tastes like a Killians that has baked in the sun.

But the view is nice and the girls are getting ready so we can head to Epcot and then over to MK for EMH.

I'll scratch that beer off my list.

Couldn't convince Val to let me fly down and help with the photography. :(

Sorry for slow updates. We switched to BWV this morning and it was the hottest day so far so I've been taking it slow.

We hit MK last night with my sis and her crew for EMH and didn't get home until past 1 am. More details in final TR.

One last pic on AKL balcony before we headed out

C Minor loved AKL and we were looking forward to see how she like BWV since she has never stayed there. Soon after we were on the BW

PB&J's at the pool with the ladies

View attachment 295306

We took a dip in the pool after (again, i forgot how enjoyable a swim.in hot weather at Disney can be) and then I grabbed a brewski at the bar and got some World Cup action in

View attachment 295308

Whilst enjoying the adult atmosphere of the bar, two ladies approached with their kids and decided it was cool to order a bunch of sodas and take up a large portion of the bar seating. She asked for lids for the drinks which the bartender explained AKL does not allow lids for the safety of the animals. The woman exclaimed they need them because they are "about to get in the car with the drinks", as if the animals safety is secondary to her children's inability to not spill a drink, smh! The bartender responded with the exact same statement he made prior (literally word for word, "AKL does not allow for the safety of the animals"). She busted a long sigh while staring at the bartender hoping he would budge. He did not and she paid her tab and left. Beat it, lady!

After awhile we headed up to the room to shower and are now on our way to HS for an ADR. Any guesses on where we are going?
Where did she think he was going to get the lids if AKL doesn't allow them? He can't give you what he doesn't have, lady! That's like being angry at McDonald's because they refuse to sell you a whopper.

Good morning from the Boardwalk Inn.

We had plans to go to HS yesterday evening but after the entire park shutdown around 6 pm, we headed back to Epcot. My sister and her boys were at HS when they just basically closed the park, lol.

Epcot was pretty light on crowds and after one of the hottest days of our trip so far, the weather was extremely pleasant last night. It seriously felt like late fall. We rode TT and had a really fun group of ladies in the backseat that we competed against with our car designs. We were all laughing and joking the whole ride. It was awesome

And surprisingly, C Minor does not care for FEA, but she allowed us to ride it. You can see the excitement on her face. And her and C had fun ripping me for actually liking it, so I made an appropriate dork face

We let C Minor explore the Boardwalk after Epcot. She absolutely loves it here. We went down to the pool about 30 minutes after we got our room yesterday and she told me she had already made up her mind that BWV is her favorite resort of all the ones she has stayed at. She said she likes that there are so many options for food and it's close to Epcot and HS. We are teaching her well! My brother (who normally stays at POP or All Star) said that she won't be able to do the value resorts now that we have opened her eyes to deluxe, haha! Hopefully this will force him to upgrade his trips.

And oh ya, look what I can drink.again!

Just inhaling the aroma of a fresh brewed coffee is amazing after three days without it!

Just arrived at AK. Here is the line for FoP. The blue arrow is showing where the sign for Tiffin's is (as a point of reference). And the line snakes all the way to to the bridge to Africa and then back around. 3 hour wait by 9:15, which is 15 minutes after rope drop.

I would normally "like" that, but how can anybody like a 3 hour wait 15 minutes after RD??:facepalm:

Yeah, our FOP experience last Dec was pretty unreal. My wife scored 2 fast passes during our 10 day trip before we left for me, her, and our son, who was 3 at the time...so paid for, but not tall enough.

Call it beating the system or what, but we DEF took advantage of using HIS magic band and rider swaps...we each rode it 6 times during our trip...and ENJOYED EACH ONE! I'm not going to lie...after a few green beers and closing out the night using our last rider swap while the wife waited with the kids...I walked through fastpass line straight to the boarding zone in about 4 mins tops. I talked to one guy..he had been waiting nearly 5.5 hours for the ride. They were excited to be on the ride, but you could tell they were just drained and tired from waiting all afternoon. I LOVE Disney and the rides, but you better believe there isn't a single ride at the parks I'd stand in line for 3+ hours for....
