Seatbelt tower of terror

The first time I rode TOT they still had the lap bars that were shared. I sat next to some really big guys and the lap bar was at least a foot away from my lap. It was the best ride ever!!! Even though I almost flew out of my chair. LOL

No! Don't tell me this... now I'm really scared.

Don't worry you will be fine and you will love it !!! I was almost in tears when I first rode it and soon as it was over I laughed my a** off and promptly rode it again !

And I dare say that it is completely incorrect that the TOT CAUSED heart attacks. Someone who suffers a heart attack on a ride either has a condition already, or a pre-exisiting condition that they did not know about. These people could have, and mostly likely would have had a heart attack on the golf course, swimming at the beach or working out at their local gym.

Can't believe no one has posted this moron's ride through not wearing his seatbelt:

I was going to post that too.....can anyone make out what the announcer says near the end of the video?
Part of it is something like "those without their seatbelts on will be allowed to....."

Sometimes my crossbody purse gets trapped in the seatbelt and when I pull it out it seems more loose but I don't do it on purpose. It seems no matter what I still fly up but that is the fun of it right!?!

'Those without seatbelts will be allowed to ride again' or in other words they are to stay on the ride until security arrives.
I though that's what it said, however I though I was mishearing it.....those breaking the rules get to re-ride.
So that's a code for calling security then is it?

This is true. But when I site down in the seat and buckle. I pull on the belt and make a lot of slack and then take that slack and put it between my legs and squeeze them together so that slack doesn't retract. Once the doors close I hold on to the slack and now i have about 3-5 inches of "play room" just enough to come off the seat but not slip out. its amazing :p

You are a horrible person.

They should allow mob discipline for this crap. It's pretty disrespectful to everyone who's paid for a WDW trip to shut a ride down because you want extra thrills. If you want to truly free fall go buy a skydiving excursion and quit messing up an aspect of my vacation. There is literally nothing different than if I waited for you to get on your favorite ride and then I flip the breaker off in the basement just because it gives me the giggles.

I've got a different question. How do I get DW on the ride when she HATES the feeling of falling?

Take her to the Tune-In Lounge for a few cocktails first. Not enough that she'd get sick on the ride, just enough so that she'd think it's a good idea. ;)

I almost wish he would have fallen out of the tower completely, just to serve as a warning for other morons.

Unfortunately, morons have the same situational awareness as boiled corn, so they wouldn't take the hint. And his family would find a way to sue.

Didn't it used to be a bar that went over the entire row of people? The only reason I remember this is because I went on as a skinny young teen / preteen and I was in a row with a fat person and there was a good few inches between the top of my legs and the bar and I was flying all over the place. It was kinda really fun, but scary.

Either that, or I dreamed this entire thing . . .
No you didn't dream it I first rode in 98 and I had a large person on the row and the lap bar didn't go anywhere near me. I was basically stood up right when it dropped.

And the ride would probably have been closed.

But I hear ya.
