Well, the reason Target stresses their credit cards (esp. to schools) is b/c the schools get part of the money from them. I don't know how it works exactly, b/c I don't have one, but that is the reason why they stress it so much.

And I know nothing about the Salvation Army thing. They are still allowed to stand outside our Target at Christmas. Must just be yours. B/c it is not a nationwide thing.

When I worked at a bookstore we had to try and basically pester the hell out of people to get our discount card which they had to pay for to receive. I absolutely hated doing it, and we had to do it to each and every customer. I can normally read people and know when they are the type who will listen to your spiel and when they are the type who are going to get really angry at you for wasting there time. So I felt very uncomfortable doing it. I would get in trouble by my manager if I didn't do it to everyone and I hated it. So I know what you mean about the pressure.
