Hello Nibbs
About 10 to 15 yrs ago we got ourselves into some credit problems. Nothing that we couldn't get out of but we went CC crazy. Went on some big vacations on charge. Well though the yrs we have paid off some of the cards but I still have a couple that we just don't stop charging on. Which I can't get down. With prices on everything going up it is even tougher to pay cash for things. I am trying to scrimp and save everything right now and can't seem to get anywhere.
that is totally understandable.

WHF and I have this understanding though where we don't really want to go into debt. Especially credit card debt. So we try to pay off our cards each month (haven't missed one yet) and only purchase what we need with a few extras. Our vacations we pay off before we go on them. That helps a lot too.

Now, who knows how this will all be effected when we have kids. But right now, this works for us.

I tried that pay off each month thing but then here comes something major breaking down. so refridge had to buy. Transmission on our truck had to be fixed. Just things like that. We are on the road to recovery now but it is tough and here I want this Big vacation next summer.:o Well I don't think it is going to happen. Maybe not even a small one.

Yeah...don't worry Susan. You'll get there. I promise. You'll get out from everything. I know it's hard when things keep popping up at you...trust me, things pop up at us too...we deal with it. But things will be ok.

I know exactly what you mean.
When I started college I was working only about 15 to 20 hours per week at a minimum wage job because the rest of the time I was in classes. I had a fairly large rent payment which I made enough money through the month to cover, but it still did not cover things like bills, groceries, any school things I needed, etc. I basically had to charge everything to stay afloat and I am still paying for it now 6 years later. But on top of that I now have a school loan. Ain't that nice?
I'm still not making the money I would like to be. But I basically live free since Damon makes much more and he covers all that. I try to help as much as I can.
I am almost out of the major debt I was in. But that is mostly why I can't take vacations as much as I would like. The one we booked for October of 08, I am saving for now in a separate fund so I don't have to charge anything!

Meh. It's ok. :)

How are you doing today?
I am doing fine. Had a nice night at home last night. WHF hung out with his best friend...who doesn't really like me. So he didn't even say hi to me. :( (Although I didn't say hi to him either, but it's not like I was trying to be unfriendly. I even left the house open and he didn't even come in. But whatever, that's not my problem. I could care less if he liked me. I don't have to see him much. (He's one of the types who has no social skills. Very smart guy, but no social skills whatsoever.)

That is what I am trying to do. I am putting all our change in a jar and then putting it in the bank as it gets fills up. But then I tell Bob lets put it toward a bill which is good but then I don't have a savings for a vacation.:hammer::lol:

That's what we do. We have a vacation fund and only use it for vacations. We don't touch it any other time.

Mostly.

Except my great-grandmother passed away last night and it's bothering me that we're so far away and can't make it back for the funeral. I feel really bad :(

Oh no. I am sooo sorry to hear about that. That is one of the worst feelings is not to get to a funeral of a loved one.
