The Darth Vader and Chewie meet and greets could have been cool, I guess. I mean, how could you screw it up? Just have a tall guy dressed as Chewie making the sounds. But he looks weirdly off-model? I mean, this is Disney. They can't make the suit look like the actual one from the movie? Looks like they've turned Darth Vader into a silly version of himself that sounds nothing like James Earl Jones. Certainly not the way I would have done it. Seems cheap, kinda crappy and disturbingly lame.

Hyperspace Mountain looks like it's fun, but that's Space Mountain regardless. Seems there's not much in the way of new decor in the queue line, which is disappointing. I also find that pretty disturbing. Like they figured they could just shoehorn Star Wars projections and music into it and people would eat it up.

Ehhh....

Did you expect more for SM? How much time did they put this together?

Why do the most recent people on this forum care if others like or don't like something at the park or not?

Why do people on this forum who think the amount of time they post on the forum gives them some sort of "seniority" care about people who care about what other people think or not?

Your comment is ALMOST as silly as those who think their message to likes ratio gives them "seniority" or some sort of standing over other members.

I'm just going to post a comment here to check my seniority date.

EDIT: Ah, I see it was October of '03. Just over 12 years ago. I never got my 5th Anniversary Highball Glass nor my 10th Anniversary Windbreaker.

For you young'uns, the whole "Like" feature thing with the "Likes Received" tally didn't show up around here until 2010 or so. I was robbed of seven or eight years of Likes! Like me, Like me!

I'm surprised at how tempting the new menu items at the Galactic Grill (Tomorrowland Terrace) look.

Wow, the Galactic Grill menu looks great. I find it very interesting how much Disneyland has upped their food game over the last five years. Especially the "quick service" and casual places, the food at Disneyland has really improved compared to 15 years ago.

When did I ever mention anything about seniority and its relevance to the forum? I myself haven't even been here that long.

Sure, I called out the few of you who have recently started regularly posting in the DL forum, because that's who I'm SPECIFICALLY REFERRING TO, including you. I asked a simple question, and it has yet to be answered, unsurprisingly. You basically asked why Endor had negative feelings towards the new Star Wars offerings, followed up with a rude remark about annual passholders. I asked why people care if others don't like offerings that are generaly popular, and instead of answering the question, you quoted me and responded with something that had absolutely nothing to do with my original question.

How about we phrase it this way. There have been a few select posters that have taken to “complain about the complainers.” If you have a critical viewpoint of Disney you “hate Disney.” This is a fairly recent development on the DL forums. It has nothing to do with seniority. The complaining about the complainers didn’t begin until a few months ago.

If you love everything Disney does great. If you decide to only post positively about Disney, then that’s you prerogative. Don’t feel threatened by others that don’t share your viewpoint.

My posts are divided into 2 parts. 1. Posting news or pictures I see online and 2. Sharing my point of view. The majority of the views I share online are critical of Disney. I do so because the overwhelming amount of views shared on a Disney fan board will be positive and I feel I don’t need to just say oh yeah I agree with that. I choose to share views that are more critical of Disney because that is the minority viewpoint and hopefully will spark a more critical eye to the cheerleaders. I also do not like most of what the domestic parks have done as of late and I am increasingly looking overseas as they are producing product I am more interested in than in the U.S. Most of the time I spend in Disneyland are around things built 20 years ago or more. I do not like the majority of the changes they have made as of late.

I know the most recent uproar is around another poster, but recently I have been called names and a Disney hater for sharing a less than glowing view of everything Disney does. It’s getting old and people need to stop feeling threatened by someone not sharing the same opinion as they do. If you want to discuss the differences of opinions fine, that’s what we are here for.

To the topic at hand, I will check out the new offerings sometime next week. From what I have seen online Hyperspace Mountain looks cool, but the rest look highly unappealing and will likely be a one and done for me. That’s why I spend hundreds of dollars every year on an AP though. Just to walk around and complain.

I'm critical of Disney because I don't like something they're doing. For example, the grotesque remodeling of New Orleans Square, the destruction of potentially 50% of the Rivers of America so we can meet Admiral Ackbar, the overexposure of Frozen and Star Wars, almost everything being either broken or missing on Splash Mountain for like 6 months now, etc. That doesn't mean I hate the place...? What? I certainly dislike what the management is doing there in many instances.

With this, I'm baffled at the positive reaction and just how lame the Darth Vader meet and greet looks. It looks like a send-up of Star Wars, something from a variety show skit. Are people just that starved for new stuff at Disneyland, or Star Wars, that they'll rave over this?

Guys, chill. I don't want to see this forum go to trash like some other sites sadly have.

I don't like the idea of Season of the Force, but I think it looks fun. The concept of Hyperspace Mountain kind of repulsed me, but on the other hand I can't wait to ride it. Poor concept, great execution? I dunno.

As for Launch Bay, I doubt if I'll ever check it out. But as long as the people who care about it have a good time, it gets the job done. I don't think anyone mourns for Innoventions.

@Endor Sightseer, don't hate me if I enjoy it. But then again, I won't hold it against you.

No I am not trying to be a contrarian. As usual you completely miss the point. If I agree with a point I don’t reply and say yeah I agree whether that is a positive or negative view unless I have something significant to add. If someone has a negative take on something and I disagree I will say so and why.

I don’t care if anyone shares my viewpoint. I don’t care if someone wants to only say how great everything is and I have never criticized someone for saying so. I will discuss my opinion because this is a discussion forum. I’m not sure why you keep asking what people hope to accomplish with discussing a point of view on a discussion forum. That’s the whole point. I have a no agenda. I simply want to have conversations with people who have the same interest. I also hope to share some points of view and experiences that not a lot of people have because I have been fortunate to have visited a ton of Theme Parks all over the world including all but one Disney park, which has shaped my view on what works what doesn’t. One of the reasons I don’t like PTN as much as a lot of people is because I have seen better nighttime parades. I like it, but I have seen Disney do better IMO. I also don’t dismiss others that say it’s the best parade they have ever seen, probably because it is. I simply come from a different perspective.

My wish is that people stop being criticized or called names for having a different opinion. This is on both sides of the fence. I think it’s dumb and doesn’t move the conversation forward for some to reply to a post and say all you do is complain, why do you hate Disney? It’s also dumb and doesn’t move the conversation forward to reply to a positive post to say you are a pixie duster and you have bad taste for liking that. It works both ways.

I think I can safely say that Season of the Force will be a one and done for me. I typically stay out of Tomorrowland on the majority of my visits to Disneyland unless I'm going through on the Railroad or the crowd controllers force me in there during the parades. I don't care for Tomorrowland, even if various attractions are guilty pleasures and the Autopia is mega charming. Shoehorning a bunch of Star Wars stuff in there does nothing to improve that for me. It actually saddens me to see them hanging banners from the old Peoplemover tracks and projecting Star Wars insignia off them. Tomorrowland needs so much help.

I'll post a complete review in the next couple days. I will check out the clip show that is in the 3D theater and apparently not in 3D, Star Tours II with Force Awakens advertisement--I mean, new scene, the legendary Hyperspace Mountain and the Launch Bay of Progress, which I foresee as being perhaps the biggest disappointment of all, as the Carousel Theater is a massive space and it's still not being utilized for anything really worthwhile. Ultimately, it's meet and greets and retail. Ugh. I will likely not go into the Marvel thing (if it's even open?) unless I'm dragged in there. I don't care for Marvel and I was actually hoping they would be moving those characters out of Tomorrowland and to the rumored area in DCA following the closing of Innoventions. Guess it was just easier to leave them there.

The question is completely valid. I personally find it baffling when people willingly shell out hundreds of dollars to Disney, spend unimaginable hours experiencing it, researching it, and talking about it, and then proclaim in a Disney discussion board that they hate it. Sorry, but that makes no sense at all.

I jumped ship from Laughing Place because a handful of people on the boards there wanted to argue and debate everything constantly. And guess what? That site is a ghost town now. Lively conversation and debate is good, but sometimes people's passions can end up destroying a healthy online community.

No. Your post had a condemning tone to it. Your approach wasn't nice, at all, and then you insulted annual passholders who bring up concerns. It didn't seem like you were genuinely curious about why Endor wasn't feeling the offerings. You didn't ask in a nice way, it was almost an attack. If you had said something like "Hey, End or, just curious, why don't you like the new offerings," I wouldn't have bothered asking the question I asked. But you were rude about it.

There's a way of going about things. I also am not digging these new offerings so far. The majority of people are, but you don't see me coming at those who are liking what they see and being demeaning towards them. Everyone has different opinions and everyone deserves respect.

End or has been regularly posting in the DL forum for at least a year now. He doesn't always agree with every decision made for Disneyland, and he has strong opinions, but we've never condemned him for that. You, on the other hand, along with a few others here, have recently joined us in discussion, which is fine, but your manner in going about actual discussion isn't always polite. All I'm saying is everyone has different opinions, and they should be respected, not condemned.

That's all I have left to say.
