Can the kiddies--I mean, uh, "Younglings"--lift all the Star Wars and Marvel crap out of Tomorrowland, as well as the french fry rocks and that useless butt-ugly radar thing that refuses to play the Rocketeer score?

The entrance to Star Wars Launch Bay. This will apparently be a marquee over the entry walkway. The old Innoventions spire is behind it, devoid of any signage now.

Along with cafe tables and chairs apparently borrowed from Main Street reupholstered and painted in TL colors.

There are a couple of things about this I like:

1. It's (mostly) cohesive. Maybe it veers too far from TL's original mission, but this is the first time in decades that the area has content that tells a consistent story. Well, more consistent than what we've seen in a long time.

2. The new finishes, graphics, and signs look great. Most of TL still needs to be blown up and redone from scratch, and they've only refreshed a small fraction compared to TL '98, but the aesthetics are 10,000 times better than anything they've done to this area of the park in years.

3. Testosterone! Finally, at long last, DL is getting a handful of experiences based on IP that isn't culled from the typical Disney themes: fairies, princess, and cutesy animals.

I would agree on all three of your points, Hans.

The signage they are installing seems designed to pull the entire land together, if only for this temporary SOTF overlay (I just did the first acronym for it!).

With several major attractions/locations closed in Tomorrowland, they appear to be staffing the ride operators around the land near the construction walls and closed locations. Except someone forgot to tell them to smile.

Cheer up kids, it can't be that bad! At least you have a job. ;)

Apparently at night there will some sort of land-wide light show or special effects. They have installed mystery light projectors on the tops of buildings and along the old PeopleMover track. They are covered in plastic, but are visible. Very interesting.

Well, at least the PeopleMover is being used for something. That's a start, I guess.

It's certainly not a mindblowing E ticket ride, and none of the static displays I see in the video would be worth waiting more than 10 minutes to experience, but somehow it works. Definitely a step up from Innoventions.

Did anyone else notice that the central staircase to the second floor is still there?

It looks like your typical traveling Star Wars museum exhibit at least in that section. I was kind of hoping for something that look more like the concept art but I assume that is somewhere else. I wonder if the tree with the motherboards and tree house is still there? Probably not. Makes sense the staircase and elevator are still there.

*sigh*

The Darth Vader and Chewie meet and greets could have been cool, I guess. I mean, how could you screw it up? Just have a tall guy dressed as Chewie making the sounds. But he looks weirdly off-model? I mean, this is Disney. They can't make the suit look like the actual one from the movie? Looks like they've turned Darth Vader into a silly version of himself that sounds nothing like James Earl Jones. Certainly not the way I would have done it. Seems cheap, kinda crappy and disturbingly lame.

Hyperspace Mountain looks like it's fun, but that's Space Mountain regardless. Seems there's not much in the way of new decor in the queue line, which is disappointing. I also find that pretty disturbing. Like they figured they could just shoehorn Star Wars projections and music into it and people would eat it up.

Ehhh....

I disagree. I think Vader sounds fine. They could have had Vader just not talk as he greets guests but it adds to the fun. Chewie does look off. He reminds me of Lumpy from the Star Wars Holiday Special. It will be interesting to see the costume live.

Hyperspace Mountain is just what I expected it to be. It is just projections of a battle as you go by the Ghost Galaxy screens. I can't see anything else be changed as far as the queue is concerned except maybe the music. The battle might feel a little empty if projections are just getting turned on as the car goes by. I liked it better when the projections where always on. It would have been cool to add the FedEx droid back to the loading area and maybe put a Mon Calamari in the control booth but that probably wouldn't be feasible. This will still be as popular as Ghost Galaxy.

This is a temporary installation to celebrate the release of the new film, not a permanent overlay to last for decades. People should view this the same way that they look at seasonal events like Halloween Time or Holiday Time at DLR. BTW, Hyper Space Mountain looks awesome.

Those clips of Hyperspace Mountain look fantastic.

Darth Vader looks and sounds like Darth Vader to me. So does Chewbacca. I'm impressed that they talk and roar instead of just mutely pantomiming like most Characters do.

I will definitely be standing in line to meet Chewbacca.

Any confirmation on how long Seasons of the Force (mainly Hyperspace) will be running for? I'm assuming at the minimum a good month after the Force Awakens opens.

Good question. I'm also wondering if it'll return (or extend) until the next film is released in December 2016.

I bet this will run like Frozen Fun and go through Spring Break '16.

And then it will return next November for Episode VIII. The money spent on all the signage and decor tells me they are planning on bringing this back each year until Star Wars Land opens.

It'll coincide perfectly with Rogue One (December 2016), not Episode 8 (May 2017). But as you said before they could easily run it through Spring Break this year and then next year as well and knock out all 3 films. It'll be interesting to see how they run this leading up to Episode 9 in 2019...but we should have SWL by then right?
