I would definately choose 50's PT. We have been to both twice. We gave Sci-Fi a second chance after our first time we had terrible service and not-so-good food.:hurl: Figuring it might be a bad night, we tried it again with same results. The atmosphere was neat though the first time... but NEVER again.
We have had a great dinner each time at 50's. However, I thing the right waiter/waitress can make it more enjoyable. I loved when the waitress told our son to get his elbows off the table and yelled at our daughter for not eating all her dinner. The kids laughed and remember to this day when our waiter that climbed up and through the window in the dining room. Our kids always ask to make a reservation at 50's.

Sci Fi is cute Movies nothing special.... The only thing really good is the burgers and Shakes. It is the best burger in the disney parks we thought. But 50's is so cuteeeeeeee and the food is like real home cooking. the pot roast is to die for. Better than my mothers... We got a bad waiter last time but this time we will ask before seating to give us a good one. We were quite bored since everyone else had a good one and we couldn't see anything stuck in the side room. Not next time. i will change that...Do both Sci Fi for lunch and 50's for dinner.
Thanks everybody! Both sound great ...wish we had a few more days to spend. I think we're leaning Sci-Fi for a late lunch. Will let you know how it all turned out!

The food at 50's PTC is infinitely better than the food at the Sci-Fi. There is really no comparisson.
The atmosphere at Sci Fi is cool. If you go and you want a car, make sure you make your reservations in advance. The seating is a bit awkward and conversation can be difficult. Especially with the movie clips playing on a loop.
50's isn't as visually striking as Sci Fi. But the atmosphere is still wonderful. If you get a good waiter, it makes all the difference. We've never had anything but fun at 50's. We go every single time. And did I mention the food is infinitely better than at the Sci Fi?
Usually, if we do Sci-Fi, it is for dessert. We can soak in the atmosphere for cheap and the desserts are good. (It's hard to mess up dessert.) I wouldn't actually recommend eating a meal there. But if I were going to do so, a late lunch would be best.

We have taken our children (11 and 8) to both restaurants. They both enjoyed 50's Prime Time cafe over Sci-Fi. It is a more interactive atmosphere than Sci-Fi. They loved our waiter, especailly when he fed me my vegetables and made me put my arms out like I was an airplane. Our entire family had a great time.

You should've made this a poll, so it'd be easier to tally up. 
Count me in for 50s over Sci-Fi, and for the same reasons most people who make that decision cite. The food at Sci-Fi is not terribly appealing. A burger is about the only thing they make really well. I like the atmosphere and all, but the food at 50s is much much better...which is not to say it's THAT good, so much as Sci-Fi's food is THAT NOT-good.
But I agree, ask your kid what seems better. Menus are online here and at allears.net Make the call that way, and if the meal turns up lousy, blame your spawn. :ROFLOL:
