I'm still rooting for the hope that they'll eventually cancel all of this...
Yeah, that's about the size of it but it's in the wrong section of the park.
I thought everyone was expecting Beastly Kingdom so I went for the other area....unless
Are they planning to put this outside of Savannah Circle Drive??
That's the only three options I can think of. I didn't think the original BK slot was big enough for 12 acres...?
And yet, Disney has recent precedence in releasing solid concept art in staged media events five years before a major expansion opens.
The DCA Billion Dollar Extreme Makeover was announced in October, 2007, with construction not getting under way until 2009, and most elements not opening until 2011 and 2012.
Cars Land was part of that original announcement, and multiple Cars Land concept sketches were released back in October, 2007. Construction began nearly two years later in July, 2009, and it opens three years after that in June, 2012.
2016 is the projected date for Avatar. And "breaking ground" won't happen until around 2014.
WDW1974, keep grinding that axe and pushing that agenda. If that doesn't work, try labeling people with uncomplimentary tags.
I'm putting my money on the raven. Sorry.
This must be a typo because if there is a 400 million dollar expansion to the parks, it is not going to break ground and open within two years. If it does not start until 2014 than it will be more like 2017 for a competition date. Considering they don't want to miss out on the extreme hype of Avatar 2 they will want this open in 2016. Therefore you can still expect to see it start in 2013.
You are wise beyond your years grasshopper.
I am convinced Disney has more than one speed when building attractions. They could have had the FLE open a year ago if they had wanted to. Money can solve these problems and they could have had the project working 24/7.
And I agree, the timing will likely be tied to the release of the movies and I am sure this is a major priority. Only makes sense. I think 2013 also and open in whatever year Avatar 2 is released.

Understand that construction workers are paid by the hour, not the project. If they were going to start construction next year, the plans would be almost solid by now. In reality they are still working on concepts.

If they are going to use such a large show building, then I think we can rule out Tomorrowland and DHS...
No. It is going into AK.Wait...so is the location of the attraction really up in question at this point? I have been a bit out of the loop.
No. It is going into AK.
Not sure why anyone would think otherwise...
So the indoor concept may be scrapped...
Exactly. So when a big project is undertaken, it is going to take more than two years if the project for attractions is as large as they are making it sound.
Well, they are adding the zebra scene to the safaris... So we have that... More lions would ALWAYS be welcome especially since the one or two that are out are usually hiding on the rock and sleeping..
I hope all the love AK receives is worth it... I think AK is a great park now.. Hopefully Avatar and any other additions that come only make things that much better!!!
Mostly indoor... If I remember right the Cowboys Statium enclosed approximately 13 acres of land.
Just saying... It is a big expensive building, but it is definitely possible. Clear span even.
