If we could weaponize the hate in this thread and redirect it towards this project, I think that would be the best thing. I would totally be okay with that.

Who said I was talking about you??? I never mentioned you once, did I??? Or are you just back here to attack those who called you out last time and wound up being right???

Anyway, so, Avatar... yea, um... still are we finally in wait and see mode??? :)

Been there, and am continuing to do that.....:)

All you can do. Getting worked up over it?

Actually, I had that one in my pool(s). VCU was in the Final Four last year. :)

Just looked at my bracket, had Wichita.. 9 of 11 right so far... best I've done on opening night in a few years..

OK sorry for the thread drift...

:ROFLOL: at thread drift. This thing has gone off the rails thanks to our "new" friend. 9 of 11 is solid, you should brag a bit.

I also will have to agree that AVATAR is in no way a forgettable movie. Atleast not by 2015. It was so cutting edge with graphics that it will be remembered for a long time!

I am so bad at picking upsets. I have not seen a VCU game all year so I had no idea they were good. This is why I always suck at the bracket pools because I can never guess the upsets. I think the biggest upset I have is Marquette getting to the Final Four.

Sorry about the drift I just noticed your comment and was checking my bracket at the same time :ROFLOL:

Alright time for some wild speculation. The popularity of Avatar seems to still be very strong overseas. I would guess that even if it doesn't happen in the Animal Kingdom, it will happen overseas, presumably first in Shanghai.

When Avatar was announced, Jay Rasulo basically told people that "all this means is that we won't do something else that we were planning on doing." I wouldn't be shocked if the cancellation of Avatar means that the boutique park concepts get dusted off again.

can you put some more context around his comment. I'm having trouble following how his comment points to the boutique park. There have been a few other projects both at AK and other places that were close to green-lit before being shelved.

Seems like a strange comment to make during an announcement like that. Good call on the overseas popularity though. The film did $2B abroad.

From what I recall the context of Rasulo's comment was a response to a shareholder that was worried about spending. The tie to a 5th park was made by a panicked imagineer that called Jim Hill following the comment by Rasulo.

Just to emphasize, this is 100% speculation. I am in no way saying that this will happen. I'm just trying to connect some dots.

IF that is the case, then that would be a major step in the WRONG direction... That boutique park was a disaster of an idea... The only way to make up for cancelling Avatar in DAK would be Mysterious Island...
