I saw some props from the Disney movie Rocket Man while on the back stage tour. After reading some of these posts, now I'm wondering if maybe Disney will be opening a Rocketman Club in Pleasure Island!:ROFLOL:

Really! Well then, with any luck the Rocketeer will once again soar over the Adventurers Club and light Pleasure Island's New Years Fireworks!

Wait, a reasonable idea in this discussion? Surely you can't be serious!? ;)

Funny, all I can think of is the Khmerian Goddess who's image was erected at many of their temple sites in Cambodia. I of course am talking about the Goddess Shir-Lee, which would make this. . .

Posted today over at the Save the Adventurers Club Facebook group:

Congratulations to Joe Rohde for winning the Themed Entertainment Association, Buzz Price Thea Award in recognition for a lifetime of distinguished achievements! Be sure to drop by the Disney Parks blog and leave him a congratulatory message thanking him for his superb job of the Adventurers Club, considering Disney conveniently left that out of their post.

Disney wouldn't post my comment asking "what's the deal with the glamor shot/yearbook photo"? Yet for some reason they had no issues approving my march harsher comments on the chat last week.

Correction: delusional.

You don't see me rambling on for years about them bringing back Horizons or World of Motion.

And if you did, you certainly wouldn't see any of us complaining about it. I'm sure that those of us who are dedicated to the cause of the return of the Adventurers Club (which isn't as far fetched an idea as you believe) also would like those attraction (as well as many other things that made Disney, Disney) to return. We are far from delusional, we just happen to be serious about the oath the we took years ago to be reckless, brave, and loyal, and valiant to the end. We are well aware that this has been a long shot, but we are in it for the long haul, and someday (hopefully sooner than later) we shall be back in the Main Salon of our beloved Club ready to welcome in new members to the 1937 Open House!

I am convinced that we will see the AC, albeit in a lesser form elsewhere, somewhere w/i Disney. Perhaps you should consider simply leaving this thread since it causes you so much personal strife ?!?!

But we DO see you here haranguing members of this site on a thread that you obviously care nothing about.

Go figure.

I think you're trying to say harassing.....I think. The fact that I haven't checked in on these Forums since last May, would preclude me from being a harasser.

The fact that I haven't been on since May and this thread is still at the top of the page speaks volumes. Especially when there's so much more to discuss with all things WDW.

[*]One: the content in here is so full of conjecture and misgivings, it's quite sad.
[*]Two: AC is NOT coming back. Trust me. :zipit:
[*]Three: Although I do think keeping some of your favorite things on Disney properties alive and well in discussion, there comes a time when it comes across as slightly obsessive. Do I miss attractions that are long gone? Yes. Do I pine for their return every day? No.

1. A long pompous speech, especially one delivered before a gathering.
2. A speech or piece of writing characterized by strong feeling or expression; a tirade.

No...he got it right. Thanks for playing and have a magical day!

Wishful thinking is one thing but stating the above as fact is delusional. Still, the colonel and other characters of the AC would no doubt be proud of your taking the oath seriously even after all these years, if only they weren't fictional characters.

If you have facts, let's see them. But saying "trust me on this" even while the sign is removed/painted over is asking too much for reasonable minds.

I am convinced that we will see the AC, albeit in a lesser form elsewhere, somewhere w/i Disney.

There are artifacts on display in merchandise shops and an Adventurer's Drink Hut. There's your sight of the AC in a lesser form in the here and now.

Although I do think keeping some of your favorite things on Disney properties alive and well in discussion, there comes a time when it comes across as slightly obsessive. Do I miss attractions that are long gone? Yes. Do I pine for their return every day? No.

That is not a dead parrot - he's pining for the fjords!

Fact: November 17, 2011 - Adventurer's Club still closed. Not opening today.

***

You Adventurer's Club-heads need to remember that just because you are insane*, that doesn't excuse you from the obligation to be nice to other forum members who come in here to join the discussion using facts and logic. If you want to be invisible and free from the observations of people who are not blind followers of your cause, keeping a thread in the busiest of the wdwmagic discussion forums is probably not the best place to do so.

I'd hardly call it a pompous speach. Nor a tirade. So yes, he used the word very eloquently, but maybe it's a bit over the top.

My day has been quite magical. Thanks! :king:

I would like to but I cannot. Those who know me well, understand why.

And I'd say a removed/painted over sign is enough for a reasonable mind. I think you meant unreasonable. :p
