Save the Adventurers Club

It seems to me they could work a little harder not to fan the flames of AC fandom then what they have been doing. This "Adventurer's Hut" is just the latest thing. It could have been named anything. And why put the artifacts from the outside of the club right along the backstage tour route? Surely there are hundreds of places they could have put them where they would be out of range of fan cameras. Add to that the Colonel being ripped from the auction, the fact that the building has obviously been saved from the wreckers ball, That club artifacts have been stored, not shipped off property, mentions of the adventurers club at live events ( I saw a film on youtube of this some time back). Taken separately none of this adds up to much, but taken together, it starts to feel like just maybe, possibly, against hope.....:drevil:

Just outside the Club, on the side near the tequila bar.

Used to be the outside bar known as "Jungle Juice". Been in the general area for ever.

If the placement of bushes 2 days before Congaloosh doesn't make it obvious, I don't know what will. TDO management is messing with the AC fanbase. Despite all the apologists who whine about the economy killing HW, they have to know their plan was doomed from the start because it was borderline incompetent. The fact that there are still apparently hundreds of fans happy to remind them how badly they screwed up seems to get under their skin.

I gotta agree with the observation that we are getting under their skin, that would explain the bushes. That said, leaving the artifacts in such a visible position seems either the height of incompetence, or a subtle admission that they are changing their thinking regarding what to do with the former AC.

Or...

They had some spare props floating around and thought they would add a bit of interest to the backlot tour.

Wait.

People still do the backlot tour?

I just don't see how the pile of stuff they had on the tour "adds" to the tour. It looks like a pile of rubbish. That being said, that either means that Disney is being negligent to their fans, or they are being mean. I just can't see it any other way.

I think it is even crazier to think that stuff dropped off like trash on the tour adds to possibility of the club reopening.... :dazzle::dazzle::dazzle:

I don't see how that could be negligence. It's either a well-meaning but misguided Imagineer trying to build some half-baked monument to the Club, or a middle finger to AC fans. Given other recent actions, I think it's pretty clearly the latter.

For the record, if you had a decent-sized group of hard core Mannequins fans who still bombarded the comments on the Disney blog and held annual reunions in and around property, I'd think you'd see similar actions centered around that club. Say, renaming PI Live or putting the mannequins on display somewhere stupid. Closing PI was easily the biggest TDO mistake in the last decade, probably longer. Any group that continually reminds TDO of that screw-up is going to irk them. Since they can't lash out at the high end restaurant chains who spurned them*, boi-ish AC fans make an easy target for their displaced anger.

* (with good reason--again, what a dumb plan, showing zero understanding of Orlando or WDW's market or the restaurant business in general)

Sounds like a conspiracy theory.

I saw some props from the Disney movie Rocket Man while on the back stage tour. After reading some of these posts, now I'm wondering if maybe Disney will be opening a Rocketman Club in Pleasure Island!:ROFLOL:

Yes...Rocketeer...not Rocketman...sorry...and it was many years ago.
I was just making a point that just because you see props laying around, that doesn't mean a club is going to open again.
It's called sarcasm.
