Save the Adventurers Club

moderators, please lock this thread. While we know the renovations are happening, it is painful to see the actual destruction, especially in a thread which was once devoted to preserving some hope of the club's return.

In that first picture, someone decapitated the sculpture by the door. :(
I have an even better idea... that would be for you to not look at this thread anymore. I don't have an emotional connection with either the Adventurers club or the building it was in and I am interested in what is happening there. So, Moderators, please don't lock this thread.

I felt like I was punched in the stomach when I saw this photo and no lie, all air left me for a moment. It hurts!

I am so sorry I didn't get to experience The Adventurers' Club. I didn't visit Downtown Disney until after the Club was closed. Darn. I've seen videos of the place since, and it looked awesome. Regrets, regrets...

Given at how careful they are being with the demo, I would assume they will be salvaging some of the structure.
demo is a salvaging act. they want to sep the recyclables(they can get money for) and the waste(which they have to pay to dump). only people in a hurry wreckit and then pick out the recyclables. and secondly, if you go this far into demo, you are not saving structure, its all coming down.

I have seen it go both ways.

However, given the similarity between the existing building and the concept art for The Edison, my money is on them saving some of the existing structure.

Went through a Walking Dead house at HHN last night, inspired me to bring this thread back from the dead ...

Adventures in Charity 2015, the unofficial Adventures Club reunion show is just a few weeks away--Saturday, October 3 at the Holiday Inn LBV on 535. This year's event will be emceed by none other than Karl Anthony, everyone's favorite "angry Otis." Also newly added to the line-up are Sheila Smith-Ward (THE original Samantha Sterling--they wrote the role for her!) and Adv Club/Comedy Warehouse mainstay Mary Thompson Hunt. But we have 10 actors in total, plus a few surprises in the works.

The Colonel's Club tickets sold out, but we still have great seats available starting at only $25. Get you tickets today, http://www.adventuresincharity.org/tickets.html.

Just curious as to what the official reaction to these events is from Disney.

Disney owns the characters and their physical appearance, they are essentially their Intellectual Property.

What do they think of people portraying their characters dressed as their IP, acting as their IP, looking like their IP, by the people who brought these characters to life. All with out the Disney stamp of approval.

At one time there was a rumor of a AC type establishment coming to DAK. I can't recall if it was a legit plan or a Jim Hill invention from his mind. Regardless, I would love it especially with DAK moving closer and closer to being a full day park with Pandora and the night time shows on the way.

What characters? Much of what happened at the AC was the Actors singing & improvising. That can be done with their street clothes on...

Having never been to one of these off site events, I didn't know if these Original AC actors where still portraying themselves AC characters/Disney Characters or not. If not, then never-mind the question. If they are still portraying the AC characters, then my question stands.
