Not early at all. Disney is a September 30 year end. Annual Report and Proxy Statement required to be available within 120 days, so that would have been end of January. A meeting 45 days from that is pretty much the norm.

Correct. I actually did an internship once in a proxy/investor relations department at an Investment Bank. This time of year was what they called "Proxy Season" since a lot of companies are having their annual meetings. People in that area have long days during March and April to get notices out to all the institutional investors and handle their voting.

From the save the Adventurers Club Facebook page:

Kungaloosh Adventurers,

With the Wearin' o' the Green upon us, Disney Parks Blog is advertising that on should spend their St. Patty's Day at Downtown Disney and that their celebration is centered around Pleasure Island and Raglan Road. I think it has been too long since we have had a post on the Disney Parks blog that had anything to do with PI, so let us leave many comments on how we would truely like to spend this Holiday, watching Hathaway Browne tell his death-defying tales while wearing his Official Green Club Jacket! Perhaps watching Emil call upon his pigeons in his Green Jr. Adventurer's Outfit. The list goes on and on, so please choose your favorite scenario and tell Disney!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Looking for a certain artifact, Fletcher Hodges was rumaging around sub-basement 12 of the Club today and came across an interesting item not far from the Maid's chambers! He sent me an image of it to share with everyone before he returns it to it's propper owner.

Here is the skinny...The cast showed up at the earmarked conference in costume and character. The way the crowd reacted you would have thought that Walt himself had walked on stage. And that is pretty much it. No news of the club coming back.:(

Here is the pic from twitter (via facebook). Hard to tell if it is recent or not...

One of the CMs in the photo stongly implied it was taken this morning. Looking at the actors, it was certainly taken a lot more recently than 3 years ago. Also, one of the superfans already pointed out Fletcher has a new coat he's never worn before.

I'm sure this is a private event. Curious who the event is for, tho.

I'll be honest...I just don't get the thinking of not bringing the club back. I know the haters are out there waiting to jump on a post like this, but they OBVIOUSLY get a great reaction whenever they're dusted off. The AC might not have been the biggest money maker on property, but it obviously made a connection with people.

Is it just arrogance and/or denial from management to admit they made a mistake by throwing the baby out with the bath water?

Who knows. I can fully understand not going back to the original format, but a dinner show would have them using dump trucks to make bank deposits.

They needed dump trucks for the cash from PI already. I'm going with arrogance/denial. Thanks for the heads-up, tho.
