Save the Adventurers Club

Thats true... but the clubs are 'highly unlikely to reopen'... there is no chance at all.

If the building still stands, there is a chance.

Disney has done NOTHING with the old PI site. It is an utter embarrassment what has gone on in that area. Until they actually do something, nothing can be ruled out.

Move on already it's closed and it will never reopen except in your own mind. As Spiritlevelplank1974 said some people see Disney like a religion which is fine except you lot are like jihadists. I hope they have have metal detectors at the shareholder meeting I am afraid one of you is going to walking strapped with Semtex demanding the club be reopen.

20k was still standing for around 11 years. Just saying.

While true, it is a bit different. Adv Club is not a highly complex attraction that needed to work safely, efficiently and prettily for 12 hours a day, catering to thousands of guests.

Much simpler to rehire the actors and touch up the decor in the adv club then it would have been to re-open the subs.

In the interest of honesty, I do believe the club has seen its last guest. But there is no harm in holding out hope.

I do agree, not likely but as long as the structure stands, anything is possible. No one in the right mind would have thought Disneyland would have revived the Submarine ride after it had been shut down for so long. I always thought the place would work well as a themed restaurant with a little bit of work. I doubt it will ever come back in its original form.

I think that Disney simply shut down AC along with all of the other places as a blanket shutdown of all clubs. I never really understood the attraction of the place but I have also never gone in either. But I do know what it is like to lose something that you truly love like this. I hope that they at least bring back the AC since they seem to have scrapped the Hyperion Wharf idea. I'll be honest, I wouldn't mind if they just created a whole new Merriweather Pleasure themed area in place of what they have now. They could then reopen the AC and it would be a d*** sight better than what they have right now.

It may come back, it may not. Nothing wrong though in letting Disney know there are still fans of the AC calling for its return, much like the LoW, or certain holiday overlays that they once implemented.

And while there's a undeniable level of rabidity in these parts about the above, this is a Disney fan forum. So no, equating these people to jihadists or fanatics that would threaten others to get what they want doesn't quite work. It's just internet hyperbole matching internet hyperbole. If you don't like the comments in this thread, plenty of others out there to enjoy.

I will say this, AC was one of the few places on PI where getting an alcoholic beverage was not really a requirement to have fun. It would probably have been the only place I would have felt comfortable bringing a kid (but only before about 11:30PM). It was not really a nightclub as much as it was an interactive Disney experience. The guest could be part of the show. Some of my most favorite times would be sitting in the lounge early in the evening going over the book of artifacts with Prof Hodges. It was a real Disney experience. That is why I miss it.

I don't have to explain myself at all.. The club is gutted, and the props have been re-appropriated or auctioned off..it's dead.
as far as being "in the know"... maybe i am, maybe I'm not... either way, that doesn't change anything

I didn't ask you to explain yourself, I asked you to explain your basis. On what basis to you make such broad statements as though you KNOW with authority what is taking place? Everyone else on here is posting statements about what we WISH were going on but no one but you posts as though you KNOW what is going on. If you won't explain your basis, then your posts lose the credibility they might deserve and you're full of as much BS as the rest of us are!

I hear ya now.. sorry, misunderstood.... and I appreciate your mindedness on this issue..

My 'position' on this is supported by the simply fact that the clubs are closed. disney has said they are closed for good, and new venues will be opening in their place.. I have other things that support my position, but just the public information available supports it well enough.

Disney has said a number of things that have yet to coem to fruition, Hyperion Warf being the most recent (as far as DtD) is concerned. Continuing to hope for the return of the AC (when after several years nothing has taken its place) is not unreasonable, especially when other venues have yet to come in.

When did that happen? As far as I have heard the AC was "supposed" to be scheduled for demolition, but that hasn't happened yet has it? No. So as long as the building remains, so does hope.

Name one attraction that has closed, been stripped of all contents, articles and equipment.. Then, been had everything replaced, and reopened like nothing ever happened..

Exactly.

2008. Some people choose to ignore it.. but in 2008 the clubs were closed FOREVER.

Here's the article from the Orlando Sentinel... and yes, this is posted with a great deal of sarcasm

The party's over at Pleasure Island: Disney to shut down 6 nightclubs

June 28, 2008|By Scott Powers, Sentinel Staff Writer

Walt Disney World is shutting down the six nightclubs at Pleasure Island to make its party district at Downtown Disney more family friendly.

BET SoundStage Club, Mannequins Dance Palace, 8Trax and three other clubs that have for years catered largely to young, single adults -- rather than to Disney's bread-and-butter family market -- will close after Sept. 27.

Meanwhile... I am entitled to post how much I detested Pleasure Island, as much as you are to post that you loved it.. If you don't like it, I can't help you with that..

Exactly.

Mild difference between an attraction and a club. Especially one that Disney has been unable to replace with another tenant for several years now.

And what is the harm of people continuing to discuss and hope for the return of the AC?

Exactly.

Sure...and you are also welcome to start your own thread called "Keep Adventurers Club Closed Forever" also, and we will promise not to troll your thread.

So that means that it is never going to happen? By that logic MIchael Jordan should never have returned to basketball 1000 times. I mean, after all, he did say he was done playing.

I don't see anything there that says it is closed forever, and ever, and it will not reopen. Nothing that says "No touch backs, no do overs, no erasies."

Meanwhile... I am entitled to post how much I detested Pleasure Island, as much as you are to post that you loved it.. If you don't like it, I can't help you with that..

May I make a suggestion? Just a little one. It might help you in life from here on out. Try reading the entire posts a person makes before you open your mouth. Okay? Good. Now that you understand that smarta**, let me explain what I mean. I, me, G00fydad, have never been to the Adventurer's Club. I stated as much when I joined this thread. As a matter of fact I have stated so several times. Therefore, I can not have "loved it" and my only dog in this fight is that I would like to hold out hope for those that miss the place. And I never asked for your help. You seem to be incapable of helping yourself when it comes to reading posts before spouting off so I don't think I'll take your assistance. Thanks. I usually don't have blind people help me cross the street. It would seem that your one and only reason for being here is to stir things up. It has been duely noted and you can now move on sir. Good day. :drevil:
