Thats true... but the clubs are 'highly unlikely to reopen'... there is no chance at all.
20k was still standing for around 11 years. Just saying. If the building still stands, there is a chance.
Disney has done NOTHING with the old PI site. It is an utter embarrassment what has gone on in that area. Until they actually do something, nothing can be ruled out.

I think that Disney simply shut down AC along with all of the other places as a blanket shutdown of all clubs. I never really understood the attraction of the place but I have also never gone in either. But I do know what it is like to lose something that you truly love like this. I hope that they at least bring back the AC since they seem to have scrapped the Hyperion Wharf idea. I'll be honest, I wouldn't mind if they just created a whole new Merriweather Pleasure themed area in place of what they have now. They could then reopen the AC and it would be a d*** sight better than what they have right now.
I don't have to explain myself at all.. The club is gutted, and the props have been re-appropriated or auctioned off..it's dead.
as far as being "in the know"... maybe i am, maybe I'm not... either way, that doesn't change anything
I didn't ask you to explain yourself, I asked you to explain your basis. On what basis to you make such broad statements as though you KNOW with authority what is taking place? Everyone else on here is posting statements about what we WISH were going on but no one but you posts as though you KNOW what is going on. If you won't explain your basis, then your posts lose the credibility they might deserve and you're full of as much BS as the rest of us are!
I hear ya now.. sorry, misunderstood.... and I appreciate your mindedness on this issue..
My 'position' on this is supported by the simply fact that the clubs are closed. disney has said they are closed for good, and new venues will be opening in their place.. I have other things that support my position, but just the public information available supports it well enough.

When did that happen? As far as I have heard the AC was "supposed" to be scheduled for demolition, but that hasn't happened yet has it? No. So as long as the building remains, so does hope.
Disney has said a number of things that have yet to coem to fruition, Hyperion Warf being the most recent (as far as DtD) is concerned. Continuing to hope for the return of the AC (when after several years nothing has taken its place) is not unreasonable, especially when other venues have yet to come in.

Name one attraction that has closed, been stripped of all contents, articles and equipment.. Then, been had everything replaced, and reopened like nothing ever happened..
Exactly.

2008. Some people choose to ignore it.. but in 2008 the clubs were closed FOREVER.
Here's the article from the Orlando Sentinel... and yes, this is posted with a great deal of sarcasm
The party's over at Pleasure Island: Disney to shut down 6 nightclubs
June 28, 2008|By Scott Powers, Sentinel Staff Writer
Walt Disney World is shutting down the six nightclubs at Pleasure Island to make its party district at Downtown Disney more family friendly.
BET SoundStage Club, Mannequins Dance Palace, 8Trax and three other clubs that have for years catered largely to young, single adults -- rather than to Disney's bread-and-butter family market -- will close after Sept. 27.
