The other day, I had an argument with a friend, and it went along the lines of what's happening in this topic.

My favorite movies are Being John Malcovich, The Royal Tenenbaums, Punch-Drunk Love, etc (in laymens terms, not what you'd call very big moneymakers at the box office, because they serve a diffrent, non-traditional audience).

My friend, on the other hand, likes James Bond, Star Trek, Rocky, etc. (in other words, proven, successful franchises).

Now, I said that my favorite movies were fufiling a niche that is oft-overlooked. His movies are made to be blockbusters.

That's how I see AE as. It's not meant to push merchendise, films, television programs, and what have you. It's something that people either like or don't like. And those people who like it like it because it's original.

I can't help but think that, if changed, it will only serve to fuel Stich-related sales. There's a time and a place for that, and it's not AE's show building.

I seriously hope Disney re-thinks this through.

Great points ArsonWinter. Even though The Royal Tenenbaums is my personal most hated movie ever made :animwink: I totally agree with your points on AE.

I also dont like the idea of basing such a big attraction on a direct to video sequal (as it has been mentioned earlier). You know what I mean. Those direct to video releases are usually alot more kid friendly than the originals (meaning that those older than 10 rarely enjoy them half as much). So that brings me to believe the new attraction would be alot more kid friendly than the original

Good point. I had thought about that but using the excuse "we no longer wanted Jeffery Jones in one of our attractions due to his legal troubles" or something like that would be really lame. First of all at least 85% of the people seeing AE either do not know who Jeffery Jones is or do not realize Jeffery Jones is playing Chairman L.C. Clench. Most also don't realize what kind of other star power is in AE. Tyra Banks, Kathy Najimy, Kevin Pollak, and the voice of Tim Curry are all part of the XS team. Again that was a very good question that I hadn't even thought about. And again I hope the answer is no.

Okay, how can anyone at all say Lilo and Stitch doesn't belong at Magic Kingdom? That is where it should be!!! That is the most kid oriented park at the World!!! Let's not be selfish here. AE, no offense, is far from the most entertaning attraction there. I know everyone has their opionions but that is never even mentioned as the most entertaining attraction at he World!! How can anyone say Stitch would ruin the attraction? Has anyone seen it yet? Your stating something that hasn't been seen yet so your walking into the new attraction with a negative attitude to begin with so you wouldn't give it a fair shake at all! I think they could do something really good with this if you would just give it a try!! Don't be negative every time Disney changes an attraction!!! You might be pleasantly surprised!!!!!!

I can see where you are coming from. But I have strong feelings about AE. The same could be said about the discussions about changing COP. People have strong feelings about COP as do I about AE. Honestly how many negative replies do you think there would be if say the Haunted Mansion or Pirates of the Caribbean movies do really well and they decide to change the rides to fit the movies more. ALOT more than you are seeing for AE. And yes personally I do think AE is the most entertaining show at WDW. Also I didnt say that Stitch dosent belong in the MK. I just wish they would put him in another park that's all. And there is also nothing wrong with creating a new attraction in a new spot instead of replacing another one. There is plenty of room at the Animal Kingdom and a need for a high quality children's ride as well.

Actually, my own point was that, if they want to push Stitch in the parks, by all means, do it. However, don't destroy an attraction that is still in operation.

There's the Circlevision theater, the CoP building, and the 20k bay. I'm not sure about this, but isn't there also space in the old Skyway station as well? (or has that been torn down?)

Point is: We already lost two unique, creative Tomorrowland attractions recently. Why do we have to say goodbye to another one?

EDIT: Actually, scratch the 20k bay area. I bet they'll propose a Finding Nemo attraction in there someday.

Furthermore, the Studios would be a more appropriate place for Stitch. The film was, after all, created there, for the most part (as I understand it). Plus, they could use a nice darkride/theater show like this. Maybe in the "Millionare" building...?

I'm not saying your opinion is wrong, I'm saying that AE doesn't compare to any of the other attractions there. COP, Pirates, Haunted Mansion are more originals (some almost originals) to when the park was opened. AE was put up much later and you have to admit, very few people talk about that attraction like it's a keeper!
