I have to disagree. IMHO Alien Encounter is the lamest attraction in MK. I would rather ride Aladdin's Flying Carpet that be trapped in the dark with something neither comical, thrilling, frightening or entertaining. I got more thrills on the Barnstormer than of AE. Stitch sounds great and hope the rummors are true.

You don't find a guy getting eaten by an alien while you get sprayed with a viscous liquid either humorous or frightening? I just cannot picture someone having neither response to something like that...or Skippy getting fried...that has to ellicit some sort of response...

The only good thing about this attraction, IMHO, is that it siphons off crowds from other Tomorrowland attractions. It's too scary for kids and too lame for most adults. A kid-friendly version would be a vast improvement. But that ain't gonna happen. So...(shrug).

Sorry, I don't find Skippy being fried funny or entertaining. Just seemed either lame or twisted. Just not my cup of tea.

I must agree Alien Encounter is far from terrifying. Even during the summer months its almost always a walk on. Maybe a change to the attraction could help it.

That's probably because you know what special effects they use to create the scensations. I could easily tell what special effects they used when I went on it, but I still thought it was awsome! Poeple who don't know Disney get scared on this ride easily. One of my friends claims that a guy in a suit was running around the audience:rolleyes:. As long as other people who aren't the Disney type nearly wet their pants on this ride, the more people will come back.

I loved the AE ride and even rode it twice once with just my family and then with my friend Kathleen when she came later. I have one complaint about the ride. I was in the wheelchair section and I could not feel for example the foot steps of the alien or the hot breath of the alien. I did however get soaked from the water spray. Even my friend who sat next to me in a regular seat couldn't feel everything. I think that took away a lot of the fright for my friend and I.

I have to admit right up front that I am most definitely NOT an AE fan. But, live and let live, right? If Disney closed all the rides and attractions I didn't enjoy, I'm sure LOTS of people would be bored to tears by the ones remaining!

I'm sure AE is way too popular to even consider closing. The controversy it generates about its fright factor can only serve to drum up business for Disney!

I'm just curious why some people say this is a walk on attraction... I have never seen that, every time I go it has long waits. Are the ones saying this referring to just before park close or something... If it didn't have long waits I would go on it more. I like the attraction, but I can skip it and have no regrets also. The first time is the best, each time after, it has less appeal factors... It needed to be upgradeable like Tower of Terror, with new features every couple of years.

Hey all,

As much as I would like to see stitch put into the attraction, at only 6-7 years old and still quite a popular attraction, it doesn't seem like they would really need to rework it. On the other hand, if we followed traditional Walt fashion, it could very easily be replaced by now.

Just a thought,
Brian
