1. And after this rehab, it'll be the SAME attraction but with Stitch doing stuff instead of the alien and TONS more kids crying in there because they're scared, Stitch or no Stitch.

2. I miss the old Disney days, when it was good to venture into something new. Disney has been going downhill ever since they toned down Snow White's SCARY Adventures and PCd Pirates of the Caribbean and the Jungle Cruise. *sighs*

1. I hope not. I hope they redo the whole story and add some real music. But I fear you are right. See # 2.

2. I'm with you on this one. Blame the lawyers and politicians. They are ruining our whole country. (Unfortunately I'm a healthy WASP so have no good reason to sue so I can retire and take more trips to DW.)

My point exactally. AE was a new direction, something that even Eisner himself wanted to be scarier. And this is Disney, the company that put some humor in the Haunted House idea and made it a classic.

It may not be at the top of everyone's list, but AE serves a good purpose: a "discovery" ride. I don't think a lot of visitors know about it beforehand, and that works. AE isn't meant to be in the same category as a Space Mountain or a Tiki Room. It's a niche that works.

Anyway, Tomorrowland is turining into my least favoirte part of the park. First Timekeeper and CoP, now this? C'mon, Disney, give us a new, unique ride.

They do still have the 20k area...

Has AE been changed lately? It seems like it was much more disturbing a few years ago. Wasn't Skippy mutated just a little bit more? That was the only part that bothered me. It reminded me of The Fly when the dog was teleported and came back mutated, and they kept him just barely alive.... waaahhhhh!

But AE is kinda scary if you can let your imagination go and let yourself laugh after you sream. I think it's a keeper.

I don't think AE has changed scince it first opened to the public. When Michal Eisner first went on it, he said it wasn't scary enough. So they added the blood from the matinence guy who gets eaten by the alien and more stuff like that.

Don't compare CoP and AE. They are not in the same class.

The niche that AE fills is not needed in the Magic Kingdom.

Yes it is! The Magic Kingdom needs more thrill rides badly. We don't want the public to think that The Magic Kingdom is for little kids and filled with childrens rides and Mickey Mouse.

Thrill Rides

That's the one park there shouldn't be a ton of thrill rides in. Magic Kingdom is mostly for the kids (and us big kids). You can put thrill rides in MGM, Animal Kingdom but not a lot in Magic Kingdom, you would take the magic away from the kids!!! Let's be realistic here. I love thrill rides but that park shouldn't be overloaded with thrill rides. What they have in there now is perfect!!! I'm not a fan of AE, never liked it, thought it was stupid, thought they could have done so much more with it. People say it isn't for kids, so why wasn't it done scarier? This is not scary! I think they should turn it into something with Stitch. If it's not going to be that scary anyway who cares what goes in there? :hammer:

Now, take it easy. I agree with you that AE has become a classic and that it shoud stay because it still works. But I don't wanna see the Magic Kingdom, or any of the Disney parks, turned into an AMUSEMENT park (YES, there's a difference between that and "theme parks") with lots of thrills just to please a bunch of teens who are down there for Spring Break. If I wanted thrills and rides, I'd go to Six Flags. When I go to WDW, I want ATTRACTIONS (YES, there's a difference between that and "rides").

Well put!!

(although we disagree a little with respect to AE)

They should at least make a few more thrill rides. Amusement parks are parks that have no theme at all and has plain roller coasters that shake you up for basicly no good reason. Theme parks are alot better because of their special themes ( And the Disney parks are the best ). When I meant thill rides, I meant thilling rides that are up to Space Mountain's standard. Just a couple. Disney needs to get teens away from Universal Studos and go to Disney World. But they won't come unless ther's bigger fish to catch.

I have to agree with you, dreamer. The only people I ever saw truly frightened by AE were the little kids who shouldn't have been there at all. I talked to far more people who were disgusted by it. I never liked it.

Alien Encounter i thought was an "Ok" ride... I think its still better than a lilo and stitch theme.. If anything they should make changes to the existing Alien encounter ride, add in a few more items etc... change up the story a little bit

Are you kidding? All of my friends who have gone on Alien Encouter has always said to me ( If I've ever brought it up ) "Oh my gosh! That was the most scariest ride I've ever been on!!!!!!!!!" I mean it. I'm seriouse.

Ok Im sorry Alien encounter is not the scariest thing.. Maybe if your 10 or 12 and are afraid of the dark and loud noises. to normal 21 year olds like myself... It is pretty tame, but is entertaining nonetheless but definately not the scariest

I personally didnt feel very impressed with the ride. It was long and lacked a thrill. It also lacked a damn decent ending. Why would a monster walk back into a tube he was already in.. When he could feast on the ppl in the crowd.. Like it was.. The show was really un- realistic.

Well it looks like the best show Disney has to offer is about to be finished. Hopefully Disney comes to their senses and decide to leave AE alone. If they take anything away from Tomorrowland, take Carousel of Progress (I'm sure that will strike a nerve  ). I love COP and wish it wouldn't go but it would be much easier to see it leave than AE. Put Stitch in Epcot, MGM, or AK. Or put him somewhere else in the MK. I'm getting to the point where I could handle Stitch taking over just about any attraction over AE.

The Carousel of Progress is awesome... its a classic....AE is easily expendable, there is no way i would choose AE over the carousel of progress ::: SING ALONG::: THERES A GREAT BIG BEAUTIFUL TOMORROW SHINING AT THE END OF EVERY DAY!!!! COME on that COP song is a classic!

I called it  I knew that would strike a nerve.
BTW I said I didnt want COP to leave but if some show HAD to be replaced at Tomorowland I personally would rather save AE and Timekeeper over COP. I wish they could kill two birds with one stone and have a Stitch stage show in the empty Galaxy Palace Theater or do something somewhere else. I hate to lose so many classic attractions. Why can't they just build new ones without replacing others. I know in some cases it can't be avoided but here I think it can. Please stick Stitch somewhere else. Hey he's an animal put him somewhere in Animal Kingdom. :)

CoP is a classic, but the imagineers could move it to EPCOT. It would be right at home there. And I agree about having Stitch being put in any attraction over AE.
