Saturday Crowd "Small" for Easter Time

Went to MK today and well the lines were very short for the usual style this year....maximum of about 60 minutes around 2 in the afternoon when they're usually 90 or 100. Then the rain later in time cleared out most of the park, leaving lines smaller. Waited for Stitch as a filler ride today before our fastpasses and i'm in agreement with everyone on this board...WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! :fork:

We're headed to the California Grill for a 7:30 dinner and then back to the MK for tonight, who knows when we'll come back. Hopefully I'll pass along some ride times for the night and any other updates I see. I've heard that Soarin' may not be testing this week due to high volume of easter crowds but I'll know tomorrow hopefully.

Happy Early Easter!

Some people are never satisfied  (sigh)

Victoria

Not old, just vintage.
I for one am glad to hear that the crowds are thinner than expected...maybe that means that when I get there on Tuesday it wont be as nuts as I had expected. Of course, this is assuming that the crowds should be heavier the day before Easter than they would be two or more days after. Does anyone have a clue on this? Which is more busy...days leading into Easter or the days following it?

One reason could be that spring break is at different times. Our state schools use to have spring break at the same time, now each system chooses their on time.

We had some serious wrath of god thunderstorms that tore up Osceola county, leaving hail in Celebration as well as Tearing the whole crapola out of the Ocala area, and someone is disapolinted taht people dont brave that kinda weather? They shoulda been out on Wednesday, that SUCKED.

More planned for tomorrow...

Yup, the thunderstorms were pretty beastly, but good news, the lines at 9:30PM at the Magic Kingdom were in fact....Non-existent!!! :hammer:

Something you almost never see at MK during this time of year, you could walk on any E-Ticket attraction and get right back on.

Today's off to EPCOT, so i'll try and pass along some ride information and wait times, since it's Easter Sunday with many heading to MK for the parade, who knows what kind of crazy things will be going on here.

Happy Easter!

Do they still do a specail easter parade, just not telivise it? Hubby found the video tape from 1997 (the the kids from "Boy Meets World" hosting it) and we are wachting it now. So we get to wacth the Easter Parade from home today! And it actually is rather nice, lots of kids in cute costumes and good shots of the parade, the castle cake though!

Thanks for the update.

I also took it as dispapointment in Sticth, happiness that the crowds were bearable. :animwink:

I read his post as meaning that his disappointment was with Stitch's Great Escape, not the crowds.

So did I, which is well justified. I don't know anyone who would complain about not having to wait in long lines.

No, no Easter Parades anymore at all. I have a full album of the Easter Parade from when I was 5 on my first ever WDW vacation. It was a lot of fun, and full of beautiful pastels and spring life.

Despite canceling church services on Sundays, Disney does keep their traditional Easter services alive in the Fantasia Ballroom, which is a good thing. Lots of memories there, too, on Easter Sunday.

Happy Easter everybody!!

The pattern of tourist activity for the 2 weeks surrounding Easter typically peaks mid week, and is lower for the Easter weekend (some people still do go to the many church services, and they plan their vacation around it)

Most hotels in Orlando were sold out M-TH this last week, and are again sold out T-Sunday this next week......this pattern has always been similar for the time that I have been working here....about 8 years.

Last Year my brother and I got there april 8th (the thursday before Easter) it was so crowded. But the monday after Easter it was soooo calm. I think many people take advantage of having Good friday off and take a long weekend. I found the week after very managable and if you dont have very young ones with you that can hang out til 10 - 11 do MK at night if it is open late everything is so quick to get on :)
