Sad - Le Cellier...:(

I really AM excited for our Disney trip in August, but was a little bummed last night and this morning.

Went on Disney Reservation site and made about 15 reservations. Then the site broke down and all the ressies were lost. :(

Then woke up at 6 to make our hotel reservations and the dining ones (all over again) and found Le Cellier to be booked for every day of our trip. I know you can make res. up to 180 days in advance - I just couldn't believe it! Not even a space for two! (Not that it would matter as we're a party of 6, but I would've loved to make one just for my parents.)

We've gone to Le Cellier every year we go to WDW - even the year we had 17 PEOPLE, we were able to get in, calling about 3 months in advance. In the middle of SUMMER none-the-less.

Reservation line said to keep trying back, but if there's not a space for two, I doubt there will be a place for 6. Has this happened to a lot of people more than 100 days out? (Going Aug. 14-25)

Someone cheer me up. Remind me not to pout because Disney is Disney no matter what...

All you can do is try. It is a crap shoot and you might just get lucky. My wife was able to score lunch at Le Cellier at about a week out earlier this month. We unfortunately had to cancel but that is another story.

I agree with Yoda. Keep trying daily and also take the dining # with you in the parks. I've had great luck in getting ADRs during my stay for the same day.

I also think there is a bar area that you can eat at if you can't get an ADR. If you're celebrating a special occasion and tell them at the check-in stand, sometimes they can squeeze you in. I had great luck with that in 2008 during my honeymoon at WDW.

Le Cellier has become way over rated - forget it and go somewhere else. Yachtsman, Il Mulino, Shula's, California Grill, Jiko all on property have as good, and in some cases better steaks. Good luck!

I know. (Sighs.) I just love the cream cheese mashed potatoes. And asparagus. And pretzel bread. And of course the steak... ;)

I hate to seem as though I'm kissing-up to the boss, but I agree totally. I have never fully understood people's obsession with this particular restaurant. I have always considered their food as acceptable, but certainly not fantastic. The restaurants mentioned by Steve will outshine Le Cellier, especially Shula's. Try it (with a low balance on your credit card) and enjoy.

There is not question that that Le Cellier is over rated but it is still a great restaurant and if you are on the DDP it has the most bang for the buck. Shula's, Jiko and CG are much better but they also come with a much higher price tag so by that respect they better be better.

There was a posting on here a while back with a link to the humorous video of Hitler ranting about not being able to get a reservation at Le Cellier.
If was from the movie 'DownFall' but the translation sub titles had him talking about Le Cellier.

I'll readily [and happily :lookaroun] disagree with 'the Boss'...

I've never had any complaint about the service or quality of the food at Le Cellier. I get a top-notch meal for what I'm paying and have always had great servers. The restaurant is in no way over-rated.

That said, it is harder to get into than other, better [and more expensive] restaurants around WDW, but that is simply a function of the size and location of the venue. Le Cellier is a good value for money restaurant with a comparatively small capacity and it's located within a park. All of the other restaurants mentioned are outside the parks and more expensive and that's why Le Cellier is harder to book.

Um, I must see this. MUST SEE IT.
It has more than likely been removed from Youtube due to the studio that owns the rights to the film used for the parody requesting that all of the Hitler parodies be removed. Ironically one of the few that are left is a parody of this studio taking down all of the Hitler parody videos.

I agree, about 3 or 4 years ago I couldn't get a reservation for anytime during a 2 week trip! But we turned up first thing and got a walk in, you just need to be prepared to maybe have your big meal as early as midday.

How frustrating!

A tip for the future...when making so many reservations online, go ahead and check out after making a few adrs, then make a few more, etc. I am super paranoid about something like that happening, so I only make two at a time. It does not really add too much time to the whole process to do it this way. I am always nervous until I have the confirmation email in hand! You are not the first I've heard of this happening to, so I don't want to take the chance on loosing all my reservations.

Good luck....I really hope you end up getting what you want!

another tip for the future - if you see an especially hilarious video clip, copy and save because you never know when the rightful owner of the original film clip will exercise its rights and have the clip shut down.

That Hitler Epcot parody was the funniest one of them all!

Don't forget, a day eating at your backup table service in EPCOT is still better than a good day working. Try something new. Have fun! Post lots of photos
